SimSearch is coming to The Sims 4 Gallery
Maxis may soon start responding to these complaints by introducing a new feature called SimSearch. The developer briefly mentioned the functionality in a recent Instagram Story, saying it was already in beta, before quickly deleting the post. However, a screenshot of the announcement was captured and sent to the Sims community. SimSearch can support at least 2 modes
The revised German patch notes list two SimSearch modes: text-to-image and cross-language search, both described as being in an experimental beta phase. Text-to-image will use visual search – possibly powered by neural networks – to find gallery screenshots that match the user's query. Maxis' now-deleted patch notes for SimSearch mods
- cross-language (beta): Ideal for International Simmers. In addition to searching for specific item names, hashtags and descriptions, you can now search in your own language and still display the same search results.

A more powerful and accessible search function marks a potentially significant addition to the Gallery, which fans have long been asking EA to improve. More broadly, the leaked feature aligns with EA's “supercharged” Sims Hub and its other user-generated content platforms' continued push with AI, a commitment the company made publicly in September 2024.
Although SimSearch seems to have been pulled from the November 4 patch at the last minute, the fact remains that it is likely to be introduced there soon. Similar to other changes found in Maxis' so-called “laundry list” of updates, SimSearch should be a free addition. The Sims 4.
