Diablo 4 Associate Game Director Zaven Haroutunian has confirmed that the new Season 11 endgame activity, The Tower, will have special cosmetics that only the best players will be able to unlock. However, players should not expect to be able to receive these rewards at first Diablo 4 Season 11.
Tower is starting as part of Blizzard Diablo 4 Season 11, offering a new endgame activity for experienced players to complete. Importantly, the tower will eventually bring back leaderboards Diablo 4Which the community has been clamoring for forever since it was eliminated in Season 6. But for many excellent ones Diablo 4 Players, just topping the leaderboards isn't enough when it comes to bragging rights, and Blizzard is well aware of this tower.
Diablo 4 players can earn 'prestige' cosmetics from towers by topping leaderboards
Speaking with YouTuber Rob2628, Associate Game Director Zaven Haroutunian confirmed that Tower of the End in Game Activity Diablo 4 will give “functional rewards” like gear and currency, but also include new “prestige” cosmetics, including titles and halos for the best players at the top of the leaderboard during each reset. According to Haroutunian, the idea for the titles is that “your character earns the right to have this title, and there are certain patterns and scenes.” Halos will be another special cosmetic that players who top the leaderboards will be able to equip, which Haroutunian says is a way for players to have “enhancement rights.”
All these Diablo 4 Cosmetics will be linked to the specific character of the earner rather than the account. “It's that guy's. Not your account, you can't equip it to level 1, or something like that… so, 'Holy s***, that guy got first place on the barb leaderboard' or something like that… It's a very exclusive list of people who can do that. It's the top spots from the community.” Haroutunian says Blizzard is still discussing whether the leaderboards will be reset for Season 11 and beyond.
Players shouldn't expect to be able to earn these new cosmetics right away, though. Because of their uniqueness and Blizzard's desire to make them a status symbol in the community, it's taking time to ensure The Tower is a “super high-integrity space” before handing out rewards. “Everything has to be really functional, it has to be really balanced, it has to be fairly understood by the community, it has to be accepted by the community.” Haroutunian insists that “we're committed to doing it, it's going to happen. All eyes are now on making sure that Tower is a competitive place, that it has leaderboard integrity,” but it's unclear whether these exclusive Tower awards will even make it. Diablo 4 Season 11, or they will be pushed down the line.
