Sony launched the new era of PlayStation Plus in June 2022, combining the previous version with PS Now. Although the latter subscription service was around for a long time, PS Now struggled to get over its early negative reputation, so a revamp was needed to wipe the slate clean. PS Plus has been way more successful and reliable.
PS Plus is split into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Essential unlocks PlayStation’s online features, along with providing a couple of free monthly games. Along with Essential’s offerings, Extra grants access to hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games; meanwhile, Premium extends the lineup to include older consoles. Each month, Sony adds a bunch of new PS Plus games to each tier, including first-party PS5 exclusives, third-party juggernauts, PS VR2 games, and indie darlings. Some months are better than others, but they all tend to include a couple of standouts. What are all the monthly games that have been added to PS Plus?
Updated December 1, 2025 by Mark Sammut: The final month of the year is here, and Sony has revealed the new PS Plus Essential free games for December 2025.

These games are available from December 2 to January 5.
The PlayStation Plus free games lineup for December 2025 is the biggest of the year, and I mean that literally. For the first time in what seems like forever, Sony is handing out 5 games to anybody with the most basic tier, and they make a diverse lineup. Now, not all of these games are highly regarded, but they all have the potential to be somebody’s favorite game (for a while). Also, two of them are very highly regarded, while the others are divisive and, consequently, perfect for PS Plus Essential.
On paper, the headline act should be Killing Floor 3, the sequel to one of the most beloved co-op shooters of all time. At this point, Tripwire’s game has been out for less than 6 months, so its PS Plus debut is unexpected and exciting. Now, it should be said that Killing Floor 3 was not exactly believed at launch, and it is somewhat considered a step down from the second entry. However, the gunplay is fantastic, and the game could very well stick around for years. If you are like me and have been hesitant to give KF3 a go, this is pretty much the perfect opportunity.
Honestly, the same can kind of be said for Lego Horizon Adventures, which has only been out for a bit more than a year. Adapting Horizon Zero Dawn‘s story for a family-oriented audience, this unusual spin-off is quite a middle-of-the-road experience, with its short campaign largely revolving around 3D beat ’em up-style sections. The gameplay is fine, and the graphics are fantastic, but this is one of those titles that can be a hard sell if you are not craving another take on Aloy’s story.
December 2025’s best game is Neon White, a creative first-person platformer that revolves around cards. Generally, your goal is to make it to the end of a stage as quickly as possible, and you have to use your limited deck to execute both attacks and jumps. As most cards force you to pick between one or the other, you constantly have to make split-second decisions.
The Outlast Trials is also a huge deal, as we are talking about one of the most beloved multiplayer horror games of the last few years. Yes, the gameplay loop is very different than the older Outlast games, but this entry still manages to deliver its share of scares, even though co-op is really not great for instilling terror.
Finally, we have Synduality: Echo of Ada, probably the least-known game of the month. A third-person shooter that focuses on PvPvE content, the game has plenty of issues, but it is worth a quick try-out.
All Monthly Games That Were Free On PS Plus Essential
Past PS Plus Games Include Lies Of P, Diablo, Dragon Age, And More
- 1-Month Price: $9.99
- 3-Month Price: $24.99
- 12-Month Price: $79.99
Formerly known as just PS Plus, Essential is the minimum required to play online multiplayer on the PS5 or PS4. Every month, the tier rotates a couple of new free PS Plus games. While these titles are only available to purchase for roughly a month, anyone who picks them up can continue to play them after that point as long as they have an active subscription.

Best Single-Player PS5 Games, Ranked
The best single-player games on the PlayStation 5 are typically narrative-driven affairs, built around compelling characters and fantastic storylines.
PS5 And PS4 Games
- 1-Month Price: $14.99
- 3-Month Price: $39.99
- 12-Month Price: $134.99
PS Plus Extra includes a catalog featuring hundreds of games. Extra focuses exclusively on PS5 and PS4 titles, and each month expands the existing library with roughly 10 to 20 new additions. Unlike Essential, PS Plus Extra games are available indefinitely, although some could be removed after spending a few months on the service.
Now, this is a pretty great lineup, arguably one of the year’s best. November 2025 is headlined by Red Dead Redemption, although the game will not actually arrive during this month. Rockstar has announced plans to release a PS5 version of the classic Western game on December 2, and it will be immediately available for PS Plus Extra subscribers. Sure, technically, this is a 15-year-old game, but RDR is still incredible, and hopefully, the upcoming release will be the best way to experience this masterpiece. If you don’t want to wait that long to jump into a Rockstar open-world, GTA 5 is also returning to PS Plus Extra, assuming you have somehow not played it. Obviously, this is one of the biggest games of all time, but it is hard to imagine there are many people left who have not visited Los Santos. Still, GTA 5‘s presence makes PS Plus feel more complete.
Although overshadowed by the Rockstar titles, November 2025’s PS Plus Extra lineup is just all-around fantastic. Pacific Drive is a brilliant one-of-a-kind survival game that takes place entirely behind the wheels of a car, and the concept works way better than it sounds. Still Wakes the Deep is a narrative-driven horror game from The Chinese Room, and it is a great option for anybody looking for an entry in that genre. Insurgency: Sandstorm has the multiplayer FPS scene covered for the month, and the game is still relatively active, despite being quite old by this point. Racing fans have two options with MotoGP 25 and Monster Jam Showdown, while anybody craving a good brain-teaser will want to check out The Talos Principle 2. Thank Goodness You’re Here! is quite unique, too.
All Classic Games That Were Added To PS Plus Premium
PS3, PS2, PS1, And PSVR Games (Mainly)
- 1-Month Price: $17.99/month
- 3-Month Price: $49.99
- 12-Month Price: $159.99
PS Plus Premium includes everything available on Sony’s service. Along with Essential and Extra’s games and benefits, this tier includes a classic catalog of PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP games, along with some PS4 remasters. Premium’s monthly additions have been inconsistent so far, and it is not unusual for a month to go by with barely any classic additions to the tier.
Although most lineups contain only a handful of classics, PS Plus Premium has been steadily enhancing its old-school library, particularly when it comes to PSP and PS1 releases. The games might not all be bona fide masterpieces, but the selection covers both well-known and obscure properties.
PS Plus Premium November 2025 Game: Tomb Raider: Anniversary
As has been the case for quite some time, November 2025’s PS Plus Premium game lineup consists of a single title: Tomb Raider: Anniversary. To be specific, the PS2 release will be available, which is ultimately better than streaming the PS3 version. The game was a solid tribute to Lara Croft’s past, and it is still a fun adventure all these years later.
