ZA's biggest threat is the long-lost Gen 1 Pokemon

Pokemon Legends: ZA It's getting a new trailer for its Mega Dimension DLC soon, and it's already revealed five new Mega Evolutions as well as the expansion's main gameplay loop. Even before the hyped DLC is released, though, if you haven't completed all the side missions or 15 Challenger Ticket battles for Infinite ZA Royale (or 20 for an additional, special side mission), you may have more content to tackle in-game. Critters love it Pokemon Legends: ZA's Zygarde, Xerneas, and Yveltal are all available after the main story ends, but now they can also be used in ranked battles as of Season 3. As powerful as they are, though, a new threat is sweeping them all away.

Vaporeon is nearly unbeatable in Pokemon Legends: ZA

With that in mind Pokemon Legends: ZA With Pikachu both OP and competitively viable, it's no surprise that an underdog like Vaporeon can shine. However, you may have underestimated how much it can really carry in your ranked battles. There are a few reasons why Vaporeon is in the OP Pokemon Legends: ZAAnd they are as follows:

Vaporeon has access to Calm Mind, which buffs its special attack and special defense stats. Personally, I run 252 HP, 100 Defense, 156 Sp. Attack, a modest-sized Vaporeon with a specialist belt to be bulkier against physical attackers, and it uses Surf, Hydro Pump, and Ice Beam as offensive moves.
Pokemon Legends: ZAThe best dragon-types are all in ranked battles, and Garchomp or Zygarde are basically guaranteed to show up on at least one team per match. Unless they're wielding bulkier sets or items like Focus Sash, a boosted Vaporeon will one-shot them with Ice Beam even without STAB.
The pattern is filled to the brim Pokemon Legends: ZACharizard, Excadrill, Yveltal, Delphox, Chandelure, Dragonite, Stunfisk, and Hippowdon. All of these are very powerful, but if calm minded will often be one-shotted by Surf, Hydro Pump, or Vaporeon with Ice Beam.
- Most players use the standard 252 HP, 252 attack or special attack set for their Pokemon, which means they will often lack bulk. This allows cool mana-buffed plus moves Pokemon Legends: ZA To one-shot almost anything.
Vaporen is only weak to grass and electricity, while it resists steel, fire, water, and ice.
The biggest threats to Vaporeon are:
- Ampharos – It's a bulkier Pokemon with access to the light screen, and many players use Magnet with Thunderbolt on it, which can one-shot Vaporeon or take it down to low HP.
- Gleason – It has access to Freeze-Dry, which can deal great damage to Vaporeon if buffing items like Calm Mind and Life Orb or Never-Melt Ice, if not one-shotting it.
- Metagross – It resists ice, it's very fast and heavy, it has very high attack, and it has access to Thunder Punch, meaning Vaporen can be in a pinch against Metagross. Heavy Slam will also stun all of Vaporeon's attacks if timed correctly.
- Pikachu – Although it will be one-shotted by a powered-up Vaporeon due to its low stats, it can also one-shot it in return with a charge up when holding a light ball and using Volt Tackle.
- Xerneas – If it's boosted by Geomancy, and it uses Thunderbolt/Thunder, Xerneas can one-shot Vaporeon, depending on its held item, or take it down to low HP.

Grass types are not very common in Pokemon Legends: ZA's ranked battles, and even so, they are weak to Ice Beam. For example, the new Mega Chesnut is quite heavy, but it will still be one-shotted by a cool mana-enhanced Vaporeon using Ice Beam.

Why Vaporeon can win you any game in Pokemon Legends: ZA

All of these reasons make Vaporeon one of the best Pokemon to use Pokemon Legends: ZABecause it can counter most metas. On top of that, Pokemon like Skarmory, Gyarados, and Mega Feraligatr, which are very powerful physical attackers and are rather common, can still be a tough matchup against Vaporeon if it calms down and attacks first. I have a size S shiny Vaporen that I use all the time, and whether it's the size or the fact that most players don't know how powerful it is, I have an easy time sniping opponents across the map.
