Legendary studio Housemark returns in 2026 with the follow-up to its hit PS5 exclusive Returnal, Saros. The first big PlayStation Studios game of the year, and based on what we've been shown so far, promises to not only live up to the high standards set by 2021's Returnal, but potentially even better it.

He said, Saros is not a sequel to Returnal. This is a completely new game from the Housemark team, although the studio's trademarks remain. We're heading back to another bullet-hell, a genre in which Housemark is an industry leader, and we're tasked with surviving a terrifying sci-fi world that aims to punish us at every turn. Again, lots of housemarks.

Saros Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition prices and content

There are two versions of Saros to choose from. The standard version costs $69.99and The Digital Deluxe Edition is $79.99. Below you'll find what's included in each edition.

There isn't a big difference between the standard and deluxe versions of Saros, so the price difference is only $10. If you pay the extra money, you'll have three more armor options at the start of the game – Astra, Onyro and Midgard. Stick with the $70 standard edition, and place your pre-order before release day, and you'll not only get three sets of digital deluxe armor, you'll get the Hand of Shore armor as a bonus. That pre-order bonus is also included in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

While the gaming world may feel like it's trying to leave physical media behind, it won't achieve that goal in 2026. Saros also has a physical version, and it's available for pre-order now through Amazon and all the other places you normally go to buy physical games.

Saros will be available exclusively on PS5 at launch

As is the case with Returnal, the only place you'll be able to play Saroos on release day, and for an indefinite amount of time beyond that, is on PS5. It took nearly two years to port Returnal to PC, so if Housemark and PlayStation follow the same format, Saros will remain a PS5 exclusive until at least 2028.

As for a possible port to other consoles, that seems unlikely, despite PlayStation having a Horizon game on the Nintendo Switch and Helldivers 2 on the Xbox. Housemark's games fall into the same category as flagships like God of War and The Last of Us. It will eventually arrive on PC, but it may not be playable on consoles not created by PlayStation.
