Between console and Game Pass price hikes, Xbox owners won't have much to celebrate in 2025. The thin silver lining for those using their Xbox to play Fortnite is that Fortnite Crew is now included in Game Pass. Even better, players have discovered a loophole that lets you buy V-Bucks for $1.
Fortnite Crew is a subscription service for the battle royale game. By paying a monthly fee, you get benefits like cosmetic items as well as V-Bucks to spend on whatever you like in the in-game store. If you have the game pass you now get access to the crew. However, if you already subscribe to Fortnite Crew, subscribing to Game Pass now gets you an additional 1,000 V-Bucks.
Get a one-month Game Pass for $1 with 1,000 V-Bucks for good measure
A pretty sweet deal in itself, but here's where it gets even better. Xbox is currently running a deal where people can sign up for Game Pass Ultimate and pay just $1 for their first month. Not bad for a service that now costs $29.99 per month – sorry for the reminder.
Here comes the loophole. As mentioned above, even if you're already a Fortnite Crew member, you get 1,000 V-Bucks when you sign up for Game Pass Ultimate. This has led to many people signing up for Xbox's highest Game Pass tier and paying a dollar for the privilege, receiving 1,000 V-Bucks in the process.
Fortnite: Crew Pack Membership, Explained
Here's how you can cancel a Fortnite Crew membership on all platforms.
For the most part, these Fortnite players aren't interested in all that Game Pass has to offer, such as its growing library of games. They just want V-Bucks. As Fortnite leaker Sheena – one of many who have shared the exploit – advises, many are receiving their V-Bucks and then immediately canceling their subscriptions.
Even after you cancel, you'll still have access to Game Pass Ultimate for a month, so why not check out those games? I strongly recommend Keeper.
This may be a loophole that cannot be closed
With their V-Bucks safe, these Fortnite players have no other use for Game Pass, especially if they already subscribe to Fortnite Crew, which seems to be the case for the most part. For those not familiar with the USD to V-Bucks exchange rate, 1,000 V-Bucks cost $8.99Which means Loophole is getting you that sweet in-game currency for about 90 percent off the standard price.
Normally, something like this would turn off when the spotlight shines on it, but it may prove difficult in this case. This is not really an oversight; This is how things work. I could see it potentially being tweaked so that people stop signing up for V-Bucks and then immediately cancel it instead of offering it as an incentive to any and all Fortnite players to sign up for Game Pass by limiting the offer to people who are new to the Fortnite Crew.
