Fortnite is down now

Reports are coming in Fortnite is currently down. Fortnite Players have taken to social media to share their grievances, with reports pouring in from all over.

The Christmas holiday is a great time for many gamers, as most get time off from school or work that they can devote to gaming. However, outages can also be a serious problem during the holidays, with major outages affecting players, such as Steam going down on Christmas Eve.

Fortnite is down on Christmas Eve

Unfortunately, Christmas Eve has also seen issues for players outside of Steam, as players are reporting that they are unable to access it. Fortnite. According to Down Detector, it appears that the game started receiving widespread reports of being down around 5 PM PT, at one point reaching 25,000 reports.

The outage has been acknowledged by Epic Games as of 6 PM PT, which says the game is a “major outage” specifically for logging in. According to Epic, this issue also extends Rocket League and fall boys. The developers are currently working on a fix, and as of 7:04 PM PT, the developers warned that applying the fix could kick some players offline. If players are actively in the game, have been kicked, and can't log back in, they should consider keeping an eye on the Epic Games Status page to see when it will finally be fixed and everything will be back to normal.

Unfortunately, for many fans, this outage couldn't come at a worse time. In addition to cutting Christmas gaming time, gamers are eagerly awaiting the long-rumored addition of IShowSpeed. Fortnite. The bundle is available now, and includes two IShowSpeed skins, Speed Cam, two emblems, Barrier Breaker emote, Speed's Triden, IShow's Speedboard, ISpeedStyle wrap, and a head shot/gas on the Truck Jam track for 3,000 V-Bucks. Thankfully, players have until January 3rd to buy it, but with so many players waiting for this moment, it's disappointing to find the game unplayable.
