Hokage is easily the most prestigious position in the world Naruto and Boruto. Simply put, the Hokage is the leader of Konoha, the strongest shinobi village ever. The Hokage is responsible for protecting the village from any external threats and taking care of every person living there. At the same time, all the diplomatic affairs of the village are taken care of by the Hokage, and this shows how prestigious this position really is.

The Boruto series is filled with thrilling battles and exciting fights. Here's a look at some of the best in anime.

Over the years, the Naruto series has seen the rise and fall of many Hokages, and currently the position is held by everyone's beloved Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. However, Naruto wouldn't be in this position forever. After all, one of the most important parts of being Hokage is learning to pass the torch and inspire the next generation. From the next generation, another Hokage is chosen, and the cycle continues.

While fans were confused about who the next Hokage would be for a long time, it seems that Kishimoto actually answered the question long ago, around the timeskip of the Naruto series. It is only a matter of time before this new person takes over the leadership of the village.

  • Naruto won't be back before the end of Boruto

  • Konoha couldn't last very long without the Hokage

Before knowing who is going to be the next Hokage of Konoha, it is necessary to understand why Konoha needs a new Hokage in the first place. Simply put, there are two main reasons why Konoha needs a new Hokage, and soon.

Listen, Boruto. The village is my family. Everyone here is protected by me. — Naruto Uzumaki to Boruto

The first reason is that the writers of Boruto didn't want Naruto Uzumaki to be actively involved in the plot.. Unfortunately, this is true where Naruto Uzumaki stands as a character. Boruto series now. Naruto had all of his powers stripped from him in the first part of Boruto, and then, towards the end of the series, he was sealed away by Kawaki. Since then, he has been a seal and will remain a seal.

3 years have already passed, and Konoha cannot continue without the Hokage. Currently, Shikamaru holds the office as the unofficial interim Hokage, but he can't hold off long enough to appoint a new Hokage. Even though he knows Naruto is alive, the fans are well aware that Konoha needs a new leader, and therefore a new Hokage needs to be elected.

The second reason Konoha needs a new Hokage is that Kishimoto has highlighted that Naruto Uzumaki will only return at the end of the Boruto series.. As such, the already established plot lines of characters becoming Hokage cannot be fulfilled if Naruto only returns and continues his role as Hokage.

Not that Kishimoto can't do that. It simply means that other character arcs that have slowly developed over the years will just be wasted. As such, Konoha is in dire need of a new Hokage, and by the end of the series, fans will likely have seen not one but two different Hokage.

Kishimoto has already set up Konohamaru as Naruto's replacement

  • Konohamaru was founded by Kishimoto to become Hokage

As things stand, Konoha elected Shikshamaru Nara as the unofficial Eighth HokageBut quite clearly, he is not capable of doing this on his own. Shikamaru's talents are best used as a counselor and a diplomat. He's not strong enough to be Hokage, and he certainly won't inspire the next generation. As such, once Konoha truly elects a new Hokage, which should be soon, Shikamaru should not be in the running. The only one fit to lead Konoha as the next Hokage at this time must be Konohamaru Sarutobi..

Boruto most powerful characters

10 Strongest Characters in Boruto, Ranked

From father to son and many personalities in between, these are Boruto's strongest characters.

As fans know, Konohamaru is the grandson of the Third Hokage and one of the most prestigious clans in the village.. He is also very powerful, but unfortunately, the Boruto series has done him nothing but a disservice. Konohamaru seems pretty weak right now, which is going against him as far as his taking the position of Hokage goes. That said, the Boruto series has shown fans time and time again that it can all change in an instant.

Sarada was weak, but she obtained her Mangekyo Sharingan and became incredibly strong in an instant. The same could happen for Konohamaru, and if it did, he would be the next Hokage of the village because that's what Kishimoto already established in his original story. Fans should not forget that Konohamaru is the apprentice of Naruto Uzumaki, and at the same time, the grandson of the Third Hokage. He himself promised to become Hokage after Naruto, so Kishimoto must fulfill that promise soon.

  • Sarada could become the next Hokage of Konoha

After Konohamaru Sarutobi, Konoha needs to see young blood rise to the position of Hokage, and finally, this position goes to Sarada Uchiha. As things stand, Sarada is likely to hold the position of ninth Hokage of Konoha, becoming its second female Hokage, as well as the first Uchiha to hold the position. Sarada has the right temperament to be Hokage, and she certainly has the power to back it up.

I have decided. I will follow the path of Lord Seventh and become a ninja like him. – Sarada Uchiha

Sarada is the perfect replacement for Naruto UzumakiMore so than Konohamaru itself. The only thing going against him at this point is experience and maturity. Sarada isn't mature enough to be Hokage at this point, and she definitely doesn't have enough battle experience. That will surely change over the next few years, as she continues to battle powerful foes in the Blue Vortex, while also learning the art of diplomacy from the best.

It is unfortunate that Sarada is not old enough to take this position now, otherwise she would already be the Hokage of the village in the seventh's absence. As things stand, Konoha is in safe hands as the next generation is filled with powerful and talented ninja. Come to the end of the Boruto series, Sarada had to fulfill her dream of becoming HokageBoruto Uzumaki by her side as her guardian. These two will lead Konoha into a new era of peace, and fans can't wait to see it.
