Resident Evil Requiem is the fastest-selling chapter in Capcom's decade-long series, with a reported five million copies sold in just a few days on the market. Scalpers are trying to make a quick buck “thanks” to retailers who have already sold. Most people are playing the game objectively and having a blast.
And then there are the people who are already figuring out how to transform the Requiem into something stranger and stranger. Take “Shrek Chunk” for example. Modder SoulReaperRyu has replaced the dreaded ambush-savvy chunk creature with everyone's favorite green ogre. The results are, somehow, even more terrifying.

“This is why PC gaming is never boring,” observes TheGameVerse on Twitter, and while I'm a console gamer at heart, I'm inclined to agree. Requiem has modes already Hitting the scene, including this one by SoulReaperRyu, which you can give yourself a test drive right here on Shrek Chunk's own page.
We'll never get a Final Fantasy 8 remake, but this mod is giving the original a grand makeover.

It's actually exactly what it says on the proverbial tin. All scenes involving chunk attacks have been reworked to include Shrek. As you can see in the clip above, it's kind of… weirdly panic-inducing. And it's far from the only mod to hit Requiem in its first week-and-change on the market – browse Nexus' main page for the game and you'll see weapons, hair tweaks, Raiden from Metal Gear Rising Revenge (because why not), more Weapons, Michael Jackson (yes), “John Wick style” gun execution, and more.
My personal favorites include the addition of Rixia from the Trails/Kiseki series, as the crossover between the massive Resident Evil IP and the relatively slim Kiseki brand should be relatively small. However, to be sure, Modder Heasty was on a mission, and they fulfilled their ambitions already.
Still, there's a reason Shrek went viral. He is literally Shrek. And he's here to kill Grace. That's just messed up.
