Lockdowns are late-game events in Dire Marsh that require you to have an anti-virus pack. Marathon. An anti-virus pack is essential for lock down, as without one, you will slowly (but surely) die from toxic damage.
Anti-virus packs and lockdowns are involved, and they're an essential event you'll want to be prepared for because of their incredible loot potential. Below, you'll find out everything we know about lockdowns and the anti-virus packs you need.
Marathon: All factions and how to level up
Find out how many factions you can get in Marathon, along with their useful upgrades and requirements to level them up.
How to obtain and use anti-virus packs
Anti-virus packs can be purchased from the MIDA Clan Upgrade Tab to rank 5 for 1,500 credits and x23 volatile lead. Once the upgrade is purchased, visit the MIDA section of the Armory to purchase anti-virus packs.
Alternatively, you'll often find anti-virus packs in various loot sources, but not tied to a single map or POI. This means that if you don't have a MIDA faction upgrade, you're going to have to rely on RNG.
Provides anti-virus packs”Buffer against hostile data corruption“, and give you a yellow bar above your health on the HUD. This is specifically linked to the Dire Marsh lockdown event, and we'll explain more below.
What are marathon lockdowns (and how to meet them)
-
Lockdowns are for Dyer Marsh only.
-
About 10 minutes into the game, there is a chance the “lockdown” event will begin.
-
Lockdown tells the POI, but it can also be viewed by searching for the POI on the map and viewing the square around it.
-
You can only enter lockdowns with a consumer anti-virus pack.
-
You should look around the area for the Lockdown Drive and insert it into the blue terminal.
-
Enemies will start spawning, and when you kill them all, loot will be revealed from the blue terminal.
-
Another lockdown drive is obtained from the blue terminal, and you can use it in the next lockdown event in the next 5 minutes.
-
This can be repeated one more time for the best tier loot.
The Lockdown event can occur randomly in Dyer Marsh only after about 10 minutes. You need anti-virus packs to enter Lockdown, and this involves finding the Lockdown drive, interacting with the terminal, and killing waves of enemies.
After Lockdown, you can get sweet loot from the terminal, and you can then use it to start another Lockdown, which has tougher enemies but also good loot. We recommend bringing lots of healing items, ammo, and anti-virus packs, since you'll be fighting UESC (and maybe some runners).
