No matter if you’re looking to do a bit of casual pocket crafting while you’re out and about exploring in Everwind, or you’re hunkering down at a crafting table to do some projects that require a little heavier lifting, there are plenty of fun ways to craft in this early access indie survival adventure.
Each crafting station you unlock for your ship in Everwind performs its own unique functions and will prove nearly invaluable for your adventures across the great open sky. You’ll be able to find and make everything you and your friends need to survive in the skies!
Crafting Overview
Like most survival adventure games of its ilk, you can expect crafting to be a central focus in Everwind! Whether it’s your tools, the slew of foods you’ll need to keep healthy in battle, processed resources, and more, you’ll find plenty of ways to use resource to build tools, gear, weapons, and decor throughout the game.
8 Best Co-Op Survival Games
From Minecraft to Astroneer, we’ve ranked the very best co-op survival games ever made.
With some of the more basic items available right from your inventory via the Pocket Crafting mechanic for basic builds like simple tools or basic resource processing, and others locked behind craft-specific work tables you can progressively build and access as you explore more and more of your procedurally generated world.
It starts with making a Crafting Station from your pocket inventory, and your world will open wildly from there! The game offers a handful of basics at your beginning shelter – a Furnace and Cooking Station, namely, to teach you the basics of smithing your weapons and armor or cooking up delicious and healing meals – but you’ll need to create the more advanced items yourself.
This guide features most of the crafting tables you’ll be making in Everwind, but we’ll have dedicated guides in which you’ll find the full spread of recipes for their respective crafting stations. These include:
- Weaponry you’ll make at the Smithing Station, as well as info on the Fabricator used to make Steamer Weapons.
- Magical combat options from the Alchemy Tables, if the arcane is more your style.
- The cooking recipes from the Cooking Station that heal you after battle.
- Decorative recipes from the Carpenter’s Station that you’ll need for building anything fancier than one-by-one blocks.
It’s important to note that even when crafting on your ship in Everwind, it doesn’t seem you can pull right from any chests nearby. You’ll need to have your ingredients in your inventory when crafting to be sure you’re able to make what you need.
There are also a handful of crafting stations in Everwind that don’t have set recipes but are worth a mention. These will be necessary to your survival in this survival-crafting game, so it’s well worth having them on your ship.
Repair Stations
As you’ll notice early on in your exploration of your procedurally generated world, there’s a tool and weapon degradation mechanic to keep in mind. Better-quality items deplete slower than your early-game builds with more primitive materials, but everything will need to be patched up before long. Bring a few repair kits to any repair station to repair gear as you go.
Furnace
It’d be pretty tough to use ores in your crafting; you’ll need to process raw ores into smelted ingots using a furnace. Fuel your fire and melt down your mining finds, then use them to build superior armor, gear, tools, and more.
Processing Station
You’ll need to build this one with the Steamer Metal bits and connect it to your ship’s power to make it work, but the Processing Station in Everwind allows you to deconstruct items into their base components. Have you upgraded to a new tier of armor but would like the ingots back from your previous set? Pop it in the Processing Station next time you take flight and they’ll be ready to collect by the time you land.
Upgrade Station
Before long, you’ll have mastered making weapons, armor, and tools from various other stations in Everwind, but bringing these items to your Ugrade Station will allow you to progressively improve items throughout the game to make them more durable.
You’ll receive an achievement for fully upgrading the initial pipe weapon with which you begin Everwind.
Rune Crafting
It’ll take some searching and fighting off Wraiths to locate your first Rune Crafting station, but once you’ve built it, you’ll be able to blend five Runalit pieces with five Rune Fragments of the same kind (no mixing Runes for advanced perks!) into a usable Rune that can easily offer special effects and buffs to weapons and gear, so it’s well worth tampering with.

Pocket Crafting
Available by accessing the pipe and hammer icon second from the left in your inventory screen, you can use the pocket crafting mechanic to create some of the bare essentials you’ll need to survive in the wilds of Everwind before you’ve made more advanced crafting stations.
