The Crimson Desert update brings combat improvements and boss nerfs

After all the hype, the launch of Crimson Desert was marred by several issues. Confusing controls, rough visuals on base consoles, and AI-generated assets are just some of the things that caused it to receive an overall “mixed” reception; However, there has been improvement since then. Developer Pearl Abyss addressed these concerns, and has already rolled out an update to fix some of them.

Update 1.000.149 for Crimson Desert is out now, and fixes a few glitches that players have been complaining about. The main points are that combat feels much smoother after some improvements to the controls, boss fights have become easier, more fast-travel points have been added to the world, and a private storage chest has been added for your growing inventory.

The update fixed several quest-related issues, including some game-breaking bugs in the Reunion and Turnali's Request quests. This is also made clear when Cliff's guilt status prevents the quest from progressing and improves upon the process of repairing the old generator in the Mysterious Pot quest.

Many content changes and improvements have also been made. Mainly, more Abyss Nexuses have been added to the map to make fast-travel easier, and private storage has been added to temporary housing in Hernand and Howling Hill Camps. Several other gameplay improvements have been implemented, such as reducing the number of hits required to log trees and removing the need to aim directly at them. It will also be easy to find materials and objects found around the world.

In terms of controls, the UI has been made more responsive to certain inputs, especially the jump input. Aiming with a lantern will now feel much better, and issues related to key binding have also been addressed.

In terms of combat, boss fights should be much easier, as they now have reduced health and damage. Stamina consumption on blocks has been reduced and stun gauge accumulation has been increased. Even if the player gains knowledge, the boss' weakness will be shown, and the bosses will rarely escape.

Other fixes and changes include NPC behavior, addition of 120Hz mode for consoles, crashing issues, and various graphical improvements.
