While places like The Elder Scrolls' Akavir is well known, they are really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the deep lore of the franchise. For example, the aforementioned pre-Nordic race of fierce warriors from the Far North, the Atmorans, are rarely mentioned. The Elder Scrolls Game, and they are the ancestors of the Nords, Imperials and Bretons all together. However, the Atmora continent cannot be visited at all The Elder Scrolls Title, scrap of information about it is still available.
The Atmorans were an indigenous, clan-based people whose culture emphasized honor, strength, and loyalty. They worshiped nine animalistic avatars that corresponded to different contemporaries The Elder Scrolls the gods. Atmoran's Hawk is believed to be Kaine, the Mother of Men, while the Dragon is most likely SkyrimThe last master, Alduin himself. The numerous small-invasions that the Atmorans arrived at Tamriel spanned a total of several hundred years, bringing with them the basis of modern Nord culture. Their first formally established city on the continent was Sarthal, founded by the legendary warrior-hero Ysgramor as he led a group of settlers to escape the ongoing civil unrest in Atmora.
Although Sarathal existed in relative prosperity for some time, it was not long before this SkyrimIn an event known as the Night of Tears, the native snow elves attacked and ransacked the city. In response to the Falmer's brutal attack, Ysgrammer returned to Atmora, rallied five hundred companions, and returned to Skyrim to fight the Falmer once more. The friends' counterattack was so brutal that the Falmer were forced underground, where they were eventually enslaved and mutated by the Dwemer. Meanwhile, the restored Altmer communities began their expansion widely into Skyrim and Tamriel.
Although Atmoran history is interesting in its own right, their continent is also a great mystery. Apart from the civil war and other social problems, Atmora was a land of permanent winter due to a strange phenomenon known as the blizzard. Third Age expeditions confirm that the ground is still cool enough to form Skyrim's Nords wince, and there is no information as to what the frost collapse might be or what caused it.

The original Atmoran civilization is considered extinct as of modern times The Elder Scrolls era, and remains one of the truths of what happened to Atmora The Elder Scrolls' A most interesting mystery. One could argue though that Bethesda may choose to give the subject more exposure in some future release Skyrim It was the perfect opportunity to do so, especially given its setting.
