Clearing Torment of Diablo 4 Season 13 is a blast from the past class for Tier 12

the challenge of Diablo 4 Increased dramatically in Season 13, with the release of Lord of Hatred increasing the maximum torture difficulty to level 12. As a result, Diablo 4 Players will only want to invest in absolute S-Tier builds if they hope to stand a chance against the threats that Torment 12 has to offer. Thankfully, there's an easy build that can easily destroy even Uber Mephisto in Torment 12, and it's a class that's been waiting for its grand return for some time.

Lord of Hatred's skill tree rework has changed the balance of power in the middle Diablo 4’s classes, propelling some previously lower-tier classes and building to the top of the meta, while some of the best builds in the game drop down the rankings. In particular, Paladins are severely underpowered Diablo 4 Season 13, a shell of its old self with its classic Aura Paladin. However, the barbarian shot back Diablo 4The old reliable Whirlwind Barbarian gives players the best chance of surviving Torment 12 as the meta ladder becomes the real star of the season.

Whirlwind Barbarian is perfect for clearing Diablo 4's toughest torment tiers

The Whirlwind Barbarian is a classic Diablo An archetype that is known for its “spin for jinn” gameplay, which allows players to spin their Barbarian around the map while killing hordes of enemies without worrying too much about skill rotation. This type of construction has historically been ideal for players looking for fairly low risk Diablo 4 Experience, but changes Diablo 4The addition of a skill tree and talisman mechanic really let this build shine. The best part about this build is that it doesn't require a lot of Mythics to excel at higher Torment tiers, so players can get this build off the ground quickly.

Best skills for Torment Tier 12 Whirlwind Barbarian

  • the storm

  • rally cry

  • Challenging voice

  • battle cry

  • Iron skin

  • Call of the Ancients

Whirlwind is obviously going to be the core Barbarian skill used in this build, as it will be the class' main source of damage and mobility. With the upgrade, Whirlwind can deal 40% more damage at an increased Fury cost. While this makes the build very resource-heavy, it helps scale the damage that Barbarians can do while spinning with Whirlwind.

Barbarian's three Shout skills are all useful in this build. In particular, the Rallying Cry can be used to increase the movement speed of the Barbarian so that they can move around the battlefield more quickly. Rallying Cry and Challenging Shout are perfect for buffing Barbarian for extra damage against tough enemies like Elites and Lair Bosses.

Iron Skin is already a solid defensive skill that helps the Barbarian's survivability when using Whirlwind. However, upgrading to the Juggernaut variant also gains additional utility, granting Barbarian Unstoppable and Barrier Generation. Call of the Ancients is the final skill of choice for this build, but it's not a huge source of damage and mainly serves as a way to make the Barbarian even stronger with its attack speed and damage bonus upgrades.

  • Gohar's devastating grips

  • Tibault's will

  • Crown of Lucian

  • Ramladni's magnum opus

  • Aspects of anger management

  • Aspects of channeling

For this build there are four main uniques that all Whirlwind Barbarians desire: Gohar's Ruinous Grip, Tybalt's Will, Lucian's Crown, and Ramladni's Magnum Opus. Gohar's devastating grips are the most important for this build, as they increase Whirlwind's damage and pull enemies every two seconds. Tibault's will is also very important as it helps the Fury generation continue the whirlwind. Using Iron Skin to grant Barbarian Unstoppable is the ideal way to activate the unique effect of Tibault's Will.

“Young apprentices think it's foolish to wear heavy plate in the swamp. They fail to understand that our armor is our heritage, and without it we are nothing.” — Crusader Pembroke

Tybalt's Will is also useful in conjunction with Ramladni's Magnum Opus, which increases the Barbarian's skill damage for each point of the player's Fury, but gives the Fury constant drain. Crown of Lucian works similarly, increasing the power of a skill with a resource cost but in turn increasing that resource cost. This makes Fury Generation a key part of showcasing this build at its peak.

Players can swap Lucian's Crown for the Mythic Heir of Destruction, transferring the unique effect of Lucian's Crown to a talisman through its unique charm.

The mythic aspect of rage management and the mythic aspect of channeling are also great ways to increase Whirlwind Barbarian's damage output. Rage Management grants the barbarian increased damage and Berserker status at a cost of 50 primary resources, 3 less resource generation. Channeling increases the damage of skills when they are channeled, meaning that Whirlwind has a nice boost with this aspect.

Season 13 is what makes Whirlwind Barbarian a top-tier build for Diablo 4

Whirlwind Barbarians have historically excelled at stacking damage modifiers upon damage modifiers to create an insane damage scaling curve. Where this build has struggled in the past is in its resource generation, which takes a hit from all of these sources of increased damage. However, the addition of Talisman and Set Bonuses has really been Whirlwind Barbarians' saving grace, greatly reducing this resource sink and propelling it to the top of the Season 13 meta.
