Based on my most recent playthrough of Pokemon HeartGold (as well as the previous ones), this is my tier list for the Pokemon originally introduced in Zoto.

Other regions of Pokémon such as Zohoto and Sinnoh lack a major battle mechanic

The Johoto and Sinnoh regions certainly have their own claims to fame. Zoto is notorious for being directly adjacent to Kanto, and allows players to visit a neighboring area in every game in which it appears. However, aside from being Kanto's neighbor, Zoto's gameplay is generally marked by a slow leveling curve and reliance on Gen 1 Pokemon.

The Sinno region is notorious for being the home region of the same generation that introduced the physical/spec division in Gen 4. Aside from this overhaul, it doesn't feature any truly unique combat tactics and is largely memorable for other reasons such as the underground side activity and the difficult champion Cynthia battle. Mega Evolution's presence in Kanto and Hoenn comes from the fact that both regions received remakes during Gen 6 and Gen 7, when the mechanic was still a part of the generational gameplay systems. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Expanded on Mega Evolution X and YFeaturing new Megas for Hoenn starters, as well as a variety of other Gen 3 Pokemon. Although it is not a core part of the games, Mega Evolution is still possible Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and EeveeAlso bringing mechanics to the Kanto region.

As a remake of Zoho Heart Gold and Soul Silver Came in Gen 4, and remake as Sinnoh Brilliant Diamonds and Sparkling Pearls came in Gen 8, meaning both were just outside the window to experience Mega Evolution. Although Dynamax existed in Gen 8, its in-universe status as a Galer-exclusive event meant that it was unlikely to appear in it. Pokemon BDSP. and with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shiny Pearl Being a faithful remake of the Gen 4 games, it's obvious why no battle gimmicks were included.

Johto's remake felt overdone

Now it's back in the spotlight with Mega Evolution Legends: ZAThese areas have a chance to finally get into action. Since Sinnoh was recently remade, this area is unlikely to appear anytime soon. but, Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver Now pushing 16 years old, which means a return to Joho is more necessary than ever. A Joho let's go The game has been on many fans' wish lists for a while, and this would be the perfect excuse to give the region access to Mega Evolution. Unfortunately, the future of Pokemon The games detailed in last year's TeraLeaks point to the franchise moving away from this type of game, suggesting that Johoto and Sinnoh may never see their own combat tactics.
