If it hasn't already been made abundantly clear, Subnautica 2 won't be adding any form of violence to the game, even as it begins its Early Access period. And if that's something you can't get behind, there are other games to play, a dev revealed.
Especially, if it's violence you're after, then play Sons of the Forest.

If Wolfenstein 3 is real, it should finally bring us down to Hitler
According to recent reports, Wolfenstein 3 is in production at MachineGames.
As first spotted by GamesRadar, on Subnautica 2's official Discord, a developer essentially told players to go kick a rock if they're hell-bent on violence.
“We're not a killing game. If you want to kill, play Sons of the Forest,” a developer named Arty wrote on Discord.
If you're curious about what Descendants of the Forest actually is, it's apparently an ultra-violent survival game.
“Enter a world where nowhere is safe and fight against a range of mutant creatures, some that are almost human-like, and others that you've never seen before. Armed with pistols, axes, stun batons and more, defend yourself and those you care about,” the game's Steam description notes.
That response reportedly came after a player asked about the lack of violence and suggested that modders might make a difference down the line.
Depending on who you ask, the response is either warranted or an example of the developer going too far with their response to criticism and fan feedback.
“'We want your feedback' means 'we'll listen to every request you make,'” wrote one user in response. “If everyone went into early access and was like 'we want it to be an fps, but like it's set on modern day Earth', would they be wrong to say 'go play COD instead'?”
Another called it “extremely insulting”.
Subnautica 2 were the words hinted at by the developers earlier
Before the game's official release, Subnautica 2 was quickly leaked, possibly due to an unencrypted upload to Steam, similar to what Forza Horizon 6 experienced but unlike what happened with Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Xbox.
After all, the game was understandably not a fan of its developers when it was initially made playable.
“Thanks for pirating a game I spent years on,” wrote a dev on the same Discord. “I'm disappointed that you would do that when this is the way we live our lives. I hope you reconsider your life choices.”
No matter which side you come down on, it's clear that the developers of Subnautica 2 aren't holding back on their ideas.
