Called Super Saiyan Grade 5 in the guidebook before Goku officially called the transformation “Super Saiyan 2” in the Majin Buu Saga, SSJ2 is a form with many advantages over its successors. Super Saiyan 2 combines the raw power of Grade 3 with the full Ki control of a fully powered Super Saiyan, resulting in an extremely powerful transformation that Goku and Vegeta use even after unlocking God Ki. Super Saiyan 2

Users: Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Cabba, Caulifla

The basic Super Saiyan 2 transformation comes with a 100x multiplier to the user's power level, doubling Super Saiyan 1's power boost. Gohan was the first character to unlock Super Saiyan 2, triggering the form for the first time after seeing Android 16 die in the Cell games. Goku himself didn't unlock SSJ2 until he started training in the afterlife, while Vegeta needed Babidi's help to unlock the transformation.

The original version of Super Saiyan 2 has no glitches, and Goku and Vegeta's default Super Saiyan form once unlocked. This pair uses SSJ2 more often Dragon Ball Super To check if their enemies need them to use God's Ki. In Goku Black Saga, Future Trunks reveals that he unlocked Super Saiyan 2 after the death of Supreme Kai, which gave Majin Buu enough power to kill Dabura before resurrecting him in his timeline.

Full Power Super Saiyan 2

Users: Future Trunks

While Super Saiyan 2 doesn't have any major stamina or ki drain issues, the transformation can still be refined, as Goku and Gohan perfected Super Saiyan 1 while training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. After Future Trunks unlocks Super Saiyan 2 in his version of the Majin Buu Saga, he follows the example of Goku and Gohan, and begins training to master Super Saiyan 2.

When Future Trunks travels back in time to the main timeline Dragon Ball Super In the manga, he and Goku get into a fight where Trunks debuts a full powered Super Saiyan 2. Full Power Super Saiyan 2 Future Trunks is so strong, he's a match for Super Saiyan 3 Goku. Goku only needs to use Super Saiyan God to defeat Trunks. Even then, Future Trunks isn't completely knocked out, showing just how powerful FPSSJ2 really is.

Angry Super Saiyan 2

Users: Vegetables

Vegeta actually surpasses Goku Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods Before Goku completes the God Ritual and unlocks the Super Saiyan God. When Beerus slaps Bulma, Vegeta experiences a massive rage that turns his version of Super Saiyan 2 into an angry Super Saiyan 2. Enraged Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta lands enough hits on Beerus, and actually makes him bleed.

Super Saiyan 3 Goku failed to land a single blow on the entire virus and was defeated with a few taps. A raging Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta puts up a much better fight against Beerus, being stronger than SSJ3 Goku. Master Roshi also comments that Vegeta is more powerful than Goku. Of course, Enraged Super Saiyan 2 isn't enough to actually hurt Beerus, but the power boost Vegeta gets from the form is more than what Goku got from Super Saiyan 3.

Super Saiyan Rage

Users: Future Trunks

A special transformation for Future Trunks Dragon Ball Super The anime, Super Saiyan Rage is a version of Super Saiyan Blue that uses Super Saiyan 2 as a base while enhancing it with God Ki. After training with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta before his final battle with Zamasu and Goku Black, Future Trunks adapts to Vegeta's God Key and absorbs some of it into his own body. It's like Vegeta learned how to use God Ki after 6 months of training on Beerus' planet, albeit to a much lesser extent.

During the battle with Fused Zamasu, Future Trunks' residual God Ki surfaces and transforms Full Power Super Saiyan 2 into Super Saiyan Raga. Super Saiyan Rage Future Trunks is much faster than a fused Zamasu, and is powerful enough to cleave him in two with his Sword of Hope. Super Saiyan Rage Trunks defeats Fused Zamasu where Vegito, Goku and Vegeta all fail. Unfortunately, Zamasu is immortal, so Trunks' timeline is still ultimately erased in the end.

Users: Gohan

The supplement is a guidebook for Daizenhuu Dragon Ball Z Anime that provides more information on the lore of the series. Interestingly, Daizensuu considers Gohan's Ultimate Form to be an extension of Super Saiyan 2, calling it Gohan-type Super Saiyan 2. There is some logic to this. Dragon Ball Manga, as Old Kai tells Gohan to tap into his ultimate power so he will transform into a Super Saiyan.

Gohan's ultimate transformation unleashes all of his latent powers and abilities into his base form. He takes no effort to transform and has a very large increase in power compared to the traditional Super Saiyan 2 transformation. at the end of Dragon Ball ZUltimate Gohan was the strongest unfused character in the series. in Dragon Ball SuperUltimate Gohan is strong enough to fight on par with Super Saiyan Blue Goku after a brief training session with Piccolo to refresh himself.

Super Saiyan Rose 2

Users: Goku Black

The Crimson-Masked Saiyan is the version of Goku Black who has killed 99 versions of Goku from many different timelines. Unlike the original Goku Black, the Crimson-Masked Saiyan was warned of his death by Fu in the Goku Black Saga. Goku leaves his timeline before Black kills him, begins wearing the Time Breaker Mask given to him by Fu, and quickly becomes one of the most powerful versions of Goku in the multiverse.

The crimson-masked Saiyan unlocks Super Saiyan Rosé 2 when fighting Xeno Bardock Super Dragon Ball Heroes'The New Space-Time War Saga. Super Saiyan Rosé 2 combines Goku Black's Kai Ki with God Ki and Saiyan Ki to make Super Saiyan 2 its base. Super Saiyan 2 Rosé is almost as strong as Super Saiyan Xeno Bardock, but it is still impressive as Xeno Bardock is more powerful than his main timeline counterpart.

Legendary Super Saiyan 2

Users: Kefla

A Potara fusion between Cauliflower and Kale, Kefla is the most powerful warrior in Universe 6. Kefla is very strong Dragon Ball Super compared to the anime Dragon Ball Super During the anime version of the Tournament of Power, Caulifla unlocks the Super Saiyan 2 account. This means Caulifla's legendary Super Saiyan form is a combination of LSSJ2 and SSJ2 Caulifla. Kefla is the only character in the series who can canonically transform into Old Super Saiyan 2.

Legendary Super Saiyan 2 Kefla was strong enough to fight on par with Ultra Instinct Sign Goku, and came dangerously close to taking him down. Fortunately for Goku, he manages to quickly adapt the UI sign to use this second go around and eliminates LSSJ2 Kefla from the tournament. In a life-or-death battle, though, it's possible that Legendary Super Saiyan 2 Kefla could knock Goku out of Ultra Instinct and defeat him before his fusion wears off.

Berserk Super Saiyan 2

Users: CC Goku

Berserk Super Saiyan 2 is the version of SSJ2 that has been infected with Evil Aura. in Super Dragon Ball HeroesCC is corrupted by Goku Comber's Evil Saw and briefly transforms into Berserk Super Saiyan 2. Berserk Super Saiyan 2 CC Goku is powerful enough to defeat Super Saiyan Blue CC Vegeta in the Manga's Prison Planet Saga.

Berserk Super Saiyan 2 sports Super Saiyan 2 Goku's transformation to look like a regular Super Saiyan in a single blast, depending on the artist. Unlike regular Super Saiyan 2, Berserk Super Saiyan 2 gives the user black lightning instead of blue. Worth noting, much of Berserk Super Saiyan 2's power comes from the fact that CC Goku is one of the most powerful characters in the franchise, and is weakened by the effects of Evil Aura. In hands less than CC Goku, BSSJ2 won't be as strong.
