A new update for Insiders on Xbox consoles previews how Playtime works, adjusting it based on feedback recently gathered through the Xbox Player Voice program. So far, the Xbox Player Voice program seems to be a huge success, confirming that Xbox fans want exclusive games more than anything else, but it's definitely not workable within a few days. What matters, though, is how players get information about playing time.
The Xbox Player Voice program is designed as a place where Xbox players submit their feedback and wishes for the platform, and then Xbox will respond accordingly. According to the company, some ideas will go ahead while others will not be processed, depending on the request or in some cases it will take longer. This new change falls under the Quick Adjustments category, but it comes from the Player Voice program.

In short, Xbox insiders can currently preview a new OS update for Xbox consoles that, among other things, adjusts playtime from days to hours. Requests and quick solutions make perfect sense. My PlayStation friends can tell me what time they are Apex Legends Instantly, when I (as an Xbox player) have to sit down and convert days to hours with my handy dandy calculator. It's not a game-changing console update or anything, but it's a small victory for the program and new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma.

Of course, this Xbox preview includes other updates before it all goes out to a wider audience. It also includes some bug fixes, such as issues where the profile page doesn't appear, where icon focus disappears when navigating the menu, and other miscellaneous stability and performance fixes. Xbox engineers are also looking into new issues cropping up around Gamerscore badges and how some games aren't showing up in their My Games and apps collection. Overall, this is a small but meaningful update for the Xbox community.
Since Asha Sharma took over as CEO from Phil Spencer, she has been scoring some small wins. The real test, though it's likely an early test since he still has 100 days left to be CEO, is the upcoming Xbox Game Showcase. Fans want to see the right games, being released at the right time, with the right messages around them, and some of that is already set in stone for 2026. But, depending on how it pans out, this could be a good year for Xbox in terms of brand recognition and image.
