from the software It has a long and storied history, although most gamers know the studio later Demon spiritswhich is the most influential video game of the 2000s. While there are few non-Soul-like FromSoftware games in recent memory, ie Veracin, Sekiro: Shadows die twice (Although this is somewhat debatable)and Armored Corps 6The company can always be known for the best likes Dark spirits and Alden Ring.
There are certainly worse things to be known for; FromSoftware didn't just invent the soulmate genre, it perfected it. while i love The lie of p and Another crab treasure As much as the next guy, it's hard to argue that they capture the same atmosphere, tone, adventure and mechanical depth of FromSoft's best work. This is reflected in the culture built around the likes of FromSoftware, as audiences over the years have made discoveries in these games that their developers may never have imagined. Nowhere is this more evident than in the myriad of different builds that have sprouted from the FromSoft community, some of which are more memorable and different than others.

15 Best Software Games, Ranked
FromSoftware's long roster of games is full of excellence. From Dark Souls to Armored Core 6 and Nightreign, here's how the best titles rank.
Demon's Spirit – Gloom Knight
Although it's not usually named as someone's first FromSoft experience, Demon spirits still stands tall as the progenitor of the studio's now-iconic formula. Among other things, it kick-started the software's penchant for brutal difficulty, so the Gloom Knight build, which has a heavy shield and spear, is very common. With this construction, once-hard Demon spirits Almost trivially easy, since you can attack and block at the same time. Still, it doesn't completely spoil the experience, and for a newbie looking for fun and reliable kit, it's hard to beat.

Honorable Mention – Blue Police
Also worth noting is the Blue Sentinel build, which uses the legendary Demonbrand sword and focuses on heavy damage output. In the years after the original Demon spirits' release, it has become an increasingly popular weapon and setup. The only reason I'm including it as an honorable mention is because it's very complex to create, including Blue Eye Stone, World Tendency, and Co-Op, while Gloom Knight is easy.

Dark Souls – Giant Father
It is arguably the giant dad construction, an icon discovered in 2012 Dark Souls 1is the most well-known. Its name comes from its armor (Giant Armor, Mask of the Father), and is usually, though not always, associated with the Zweihander sword. The idea behind Giant Dad is to deal heavy HP and stunning damage while boasting high stagger resistance, allowing users to inflict quick and devastating punishment on their enemies. For this reason, Big Daddy is particularly infamous Dark spirits' PvP scene.
Honorable Mention – Havel
Considered a precursor to the Giant Dad, the Havel build is similarly tank-like, though not nearly as game-breaking. Still, the ridiculously large armor, greatshield, and dragon's tooth hammer make for an effective and often hilarious playthrough, especially for experienced players who don't mind losing a few dodge roll eye-frames in favor of greater defense.

Making a name
Dark Souls 2 – Fast Wizard
Dark Souls 2 Still seen as the black sheep Dark spirits franchise, but it's got some major strengths, many of them revolving around magical constructs. There are more powerful spells to be found, sure, but also gear that greatly increases spell-casting speed. In fact, with the right kit, usually consisting of a Clear Bluestone Ring and a Lion Mage set, you can crank your cast speed up to 86% for a unique and addictive magic setup.
Honorable Mention – Vampire
Dark Souls 2 There's also some killer health regen gear, making so-called “vampires” especially viable. With items like The Crown of the Ivory King and the Charred Loyce Shield, you can get a steady supply of passive HP, and if you throw in the Eleum Loyce Curved Sword, which heals when landing a heavy attack, you'll be nearly immortal.

Dark Souls 3 – Salesword Twinblades
may be affected by the design blood borne, Dark Souls 3Its combat system is much faster and more aggressive than its predecessors, which is why the fast, blood-damage-accumulating Salesword Twinblades are so powerful. Upgrading these swords and spacing in Dexterity and Endurance can turn a player-character into a deadly ballerina, and in NG+ runs, this build is basically unstoppable.
Honorable Mention – Guts
It's no secret that FromSoftware is heavily inspired BerserkAnd as such, almost every FromSoft soulslike offers a subtle homage to Guts' Dragonslayer Greatsword. I've played every one Dark spirits Game as guts, and I have to say that Dark Souls 3 Probably provides the best soil for this type of construction. Maybe it's because the combat is faster, but that's what I find DS3 This makes the setup especially fun. In my mind at least, it's a definite “guts-like” experience.

Bloodborne – Ludwig the Warrior
There's nothing to shout about.”blood borne Noob” like Manning Ludwig's Holy Blade, but there's no shame in it — I beat blood borne Countless times, and I still dip into the Holy Blade pool. It's an incredibly reliable weapon, and when backed by high endurance, strength and skill, it can make for a very fun, albeit straightforward, build. Also, it is one of only a few great swords blood borneWhich ironically makes it stand out despite its relative simplicity.
Honorable Mention – Bloodborne Cover Art
It almost feels like cheating to include a starting build here, but I think so blood borne There is one exception. To emulate the character on the game's box art, all you have to do is select the Saw Cleaver and Hunter Blunderbuss after the cold open, and then pick up the Hunter set. You will be well on your way to becoming blood borne The poster child. Not only is this build fundamentally iconic, but it's also quite viable – you could do worse than a Saw Cleaver, I'll tell you.

Alden Ring – Let Me Do Her Solo
Legendary PvE Alden Ring The player let me solo beat her Malenia so well that gamers around the world have sought to emulate her, donning the unforgettable jar-and-lincloth look in their own playthroughs (and sometimes in real-life cosplays). With an upgraded Uchigatana in one hand and Rivers of Blood in the other, this setup is remarkably effective from a DPS perspective, though it offers little in the way of protection. It's a high-risk, high-reward glass cannon setup, and for those who master it, it's incredibly fun.
Honorable Mention – Moonveil Battlemage
This build is distinguished by its sheer popularity. Most of the Ludwig Warrior builds blood borneThis loadout is a great fit for beginners, not only because of its enormous power, but also because of its versatility. With a staff in one hand and a Moonville katana in the other, it's perfect for anyone who can distinguish between wind and magic, and Moonville's split Ashes of War attacks make it ideal at close and mid-range. It's a hum-dinger, to be sure.
