As of this writing, Steam Users can expect the platform's free-to-keep promotion to offer at least five games in June 2026, though one of them has a bit of a caveat attached. Steam's free-to-keep promotion, for the uninitiated, is a publisher-initiated promotion in which they offer their games completely free for a limited time, allowing anyone who claims a game within a week (usually) to add it to their digital libraries and keep it forever.
However, the nature of Steam's free-to-keep promotion makes it less reliable and consistent than Epic Game Store free games. PC gamers always know when to expect it, while a free-to-keep promotion can often go live from anywhere. Furthermore, EGS announces them ahead of time, and Steam does not. That said, sites like Steamdb make it easier than ever to find backend information about upcoming games for the Steam free-to-keep promotion, and while it's not solid, it's decently reliable. Not every game listed there makes it into the free-to-keep promotion period, but every Steam free-to-keep game pops up first on this list.

There is an important caveat here Conquer Your Fears – The Caretaker Because I crossed it off the list in the past. Conquer Your Fears – The Caretaker It was made free to put on Steam at the beginning of May, and it was on this list even before that. However, it has not been removed since then. Steam's free-to-keep promotion could, in theory, run it back at any point, so that's a warning. It's uncertain why it's still there, as gifts are removed every day, but according to backend data, these five games will be temporarily free in June. Nothing is free yet, but these games should be out sometime in June.
