Now, 12 years after his last appearance in Naruto Chapter 691, which was officially released on September 22, 2014, the sequel to Naruto, BorutoOfficially introduces Tobirama's successor, who has invented many powerful techniques of his own. For example, Tobirama was the creator of the Senju Flying Raijin Technique, which allows teleportation. This technique made him the fastest ninja of his time. While Minato was a good user of this technique and went on to perfect it, Tobirama invented it in the first place, as confirmed in Naruto chapter 641.
The shadow clone technique, which is known to be incredibly iconic in the ninja world, was also invented by none other than Tobira Senju. He also invented Impure World Rebirth, also known as Edo Tensei and stands as the most dangerous technique that exists in Naruto's world. Tobirama also invented the reciprocal multiplying paper bombs, and all of these are only a fraction of what he really invented in the ninja world during his time as the Second Hokage.

The first technique Boruto invented in the story was the Vanishing Rasengan. Technically, this jutsu was invented by him unconsciously, but it was still a technique that he developed himself. By adding Lightning Release to the Rasengan, Boruto completely changed the jutsu's properties, allowing it to disappear at random moments and take the enemy by complete surprise.
This technology debuted in 2015 Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #2 in Shuisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #27 on June 20, 2016. Following this technique, Boruto Uzumaki invented a new form of Rasengan called the Compression Rasengan, which significantly increased the technique's penetrating power and its destructive capabilities. In my eyes, this elevates Boruto Uzumaki's character significantly, especially after seeing his slow character development over the years.

Boruto Uzumaki invented one of the most powerful techniques seen in the entire franchise, namely, the Rasengan Uzuhiko. This technique completely blew away my understanding of what the Rasengan was capable of when it first debuted on September 20, 2023 in the second chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Using planetary rotation, Boruto essentially puts his enemy in a semi-permanent spinning state, completely destroying their sense of sight and balance, and in the process, easily defeats them. Even people as strong as Code's level or other strong Otsutsuki cannot withstand this technique, and it makes Boruto even greater than an inventor, possibly second only to the likes of Tobirama in my eyes.

Why Boruto Uzumaki's rise as another inventor will make him the strongest ninja
After nearly three years of watching Boruto's journey as a young adult in the two Blue Vortexes, I can confidently say that this is only the beginning of his journey as a strong ninja. Boruto Uzumaki is on his way to learning more techniques and, given his incredible talent, inventing a plethora of powerful jutsu. By now, Boruto Uzumaki has invented five jutsu of his own and learned a lot from Sasuke Uchiha and Kashin Koji, but the best is yet to come. Boruto's strongest transformations, strongest skills, and with that, strongest jutsu are yet to be revealed by Mikio Ikimoto and Masashi Kishimoto, which excites me and many other fans to no end.
Now, Boruto stands as the true heir to Tobirama Senju in Konoha, but he has already surpassed him in terms of power. In the future, Boruto Uzumaki will be able to surpass the legacy of not only Tobira Senju, but all existing Hokages. Unfortunately, however, Boruto Uzumaki will never become Hokage because that is not his goal. He wants to be a shinobi like Sasuke Uchiha, and that to me is admirable in its own way and definitely exciting.
