For years, fans have expected Piccolo to play a more integral role in the story arc because of how beloved a character he is. This prayer was finally answered in the superhero arc, when Piccolo unlocked his ultimate state which finally brought him to the same level as the main Saiyan of the story.

Orange Piccolo is one of the most powerful heroes in the entire story, and his performance against Cell Max fully confirms this story. Both Toyotaro and Toriyama clearly stated the future of the series, that the 5 main heroes should all be at the same level of overall power, with Orange Piccolo being one of the strongest heroes in the multiverse.

Broly's potential is the greatest of them all

Strongest Form: Fully powered Super Saiyan

As one of the greatest talents the Saiyan race has ever known, Broly's monstrous natural strength was on full display in his fight against Goku and Vegeta, where he displayed incredible power by taking on two users of Super Saiyan Blue simultaneously, which is made all the more impressive considering this was his first proper fight.

Since then, Broly has joined Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Piccolo as god-level heroes who stand at the vanguard of Universe 7 as its fiercest and most powerful guardians. Of course, Broly has only just learned to control his legendary power, so he's still inexperienced with it, but no one comes close to him in terms of sheer destructive output and potential.

Granolah turned from a villain to a hero against the gas

In the opening stages of the Granolah arc, the title character made an important wish that changed the power landscape of the series. Becoming the strongest mortal in Universe 7, Granolah's power reached unprecedented levels, as seen in how he was able to defeat Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku with a single hit despite being incapacitated by his clone.

In his later fight against Ultra Ego Vegeta, he also matched the Saiyan Prince, as his final attack would knock them both out. However, towards the end of the arc, Granolah realized that his true grip was with Heeters and Frieza, causing him to change his ways and become an invaluable ally to Goku and Vegeta as well as another god-level hero.

Strongest Form: Ultra Ego

Of all the ultimate forms the heroes now have, Sabzi definitely wins in terms of being the best. With Ultra Ego, Vegeta proved a raw offensive power that made him even stronger than Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, despite never having used the form before, his performance against Granolah was overwhelming.

Ultra Ego has made Vegeta's power truly legendary as he can use the Destroyer God's energy of destruction while in this state, allowing him to use Hakai. However, Vegeta is still far from mastering this form, as it has many issues that still need to be ironed out to make it fully viable. Despite that, Vegeta is still a god-level hero.

Gohan's potential awakened a truly terrifying innate power

Strongest Form: Animal Gohan

From his first appearance, Akira Toriyama implied that Gohan's innate power was truly amazing, and that his abilities meant he surpassed everyone else in power. This was first seen with his legendary Super Saiyan 2 transformation, and the point was really hammered home with the incredible Beast Gohan form.

Born from the explosion of anger Gohan felt at the thought of Piccolo being killed, this state took Gohan's incredible abilities as a hybrid-san and brought it to a level that surpassed anything else. Not only did Gohan Beast easily kill Cell Max, he also managed to match Ultra Instinct Goku in a spar, showing that the heroes are more or less equal going forward.

Although Goku had access to the Goddess Ki from the start SuperHe wouldn't truly reach God-level until he unlocked Ultra Instinct. Known as the ultimate martial art technique in the multiverse that is notoriously difficult to master, even for gods of destruction, Ultra Instinct makes Goku an unparalleled fighter.

Although the direction the story is going right now confirms that the 5 main heroes are all at the same level of power, it stands to reason that Goku is likely above the rest, due to time and experience with his new final form.
