Everything you need to know

After more than a year of waiting, A-1 Pictures finally announced the new Single leveling project. Before the announcement, fans were certain that the studio would likely make a third season that would cover the next arcs in the story, but it seems that A-1 Pictures has other plans.

Another project is called Single leveling: out of system. This will not be a regular anime season, but rather a movie. According to early reports, the movie will be released in Japan in 2027. An exact release date hasn't been shared yet, but that doesn't mean fans can't hype up the project.

Which Arcs will Solo Leveling: Beyond System Cover?

Solo leveling returns 2027

Solo Leveling: Beyond The System is a direct sequel to the anime's second season, meaning it will cover the arcs that follow. There are still many arcs that the project could cover, but based on the title of the movie, it will adapt two arcs – the Ahjin Guild arc and the Double Dungeon arc.

The Ahjin Guild arc isn't as action-packed as some of the previous ones, but it makes up for it with great drama and tension. In the arc, Jinwoo forms the Ahjin Guild and begins to face new challenges, mostly on his own. When the Knights Guild approaches him, he accepts their offer and decides to help them. While Jinwoo is busy helping the guild, his sister is caught in the middle of an Orc attack. So, Jinwoo must leave the Knights Guild and follow his sister. One thing is for sure: the Ahjin Guild arc will keep fans on the edge of their seats. However, the highlight of Solo Leveling: Beyond the System will be the double dungeon arc.

A single level beyond the system will reveal the truth about Sung Jinwu's mysterious powers

Ever since Sung Jinwoo gained his power, fans began to wonder why he was chosen as a player and what the system was. Thankfully, the wait will be over once the movie releases. The film's title “Beyond the System” makes it clear that it will reveal many details related to the system. In the Double Dungeon arc, Jinwoo will go to Kartenan Temple, where it all started for Jinwoo. Normally, the place would be inaccessible, but the key is obtained after the hero hits level 100.

Upon reaching the Kartenan Temple, Jinwu met Kandiaru, the system's architect. Jinwoo had a lot of questions for him, but Kandiaru wasn't going to tell the hero everything. So, he made him an offer – beat all the idols to learn about the system. So, Jinwoo had to fight the idols that killed him during the first visit. As expected, things were different this time. Instead of running around in panic, Jinwoo completely obliterated the idols. Even when the god's statue entered the arena, the results were no different.

Once they were all beaten, the Architect entered the fight. He posed another challenge, and this time, he asked Jinwoo to defeat him. The Architect set a 10-minute timer and informed Jinwoo that if he failed to defeat him within the allotted time, he would lose his life. As expected, the architect had a cut above the statues, and he made Jinwoo work hard. In fact, the hero came dangerously close to death and only survived because of his quick thinking and reflexes. After starting on the back foot, Jinwoo gradually took control and eventually overtook Kandiaru. Then with a few minutes left on the clock, he brought down the architect.

I am the record of your struggle, the proof of your resistance and the reward of your pain. I am death, I am eternal rest, I am terror. – Ashbourne

After the beating, Kandiaru places Jinwu under suspension. The earlier hope was that the Shadow King would take over Jinwu's body and be reincarnated again. However, the Shadow King had no intention of being reborn. Instead, he surrendered all of his remaining power to Jinwu. The architect was not happy with the Shadow King's actions, and he tried to stop him, but the latter was two steps ahead. He had taken Kandiaru out of the system, preventing him from interfering in the process.

In addition to focusing on Jinwoo and the Architect, the movie will also give more screen time to other interesting characters like Cha Hae-in, Choi Jong-in, and Baek Yeonho. Many fans have complained about the lack of screen time for side characters, but thankfully, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System will fix that.

Won't A-1 Pictures make Solo Leveling Season 3?

Possible Release Date Solo Leveling Movie

Since the announcement of the movie, there has been a lot of buzz among fans regarding the future of the franchise. For a long time, fans believed that A-1 Pictures would be busy making a third season of Solo Leveling, but now that has been proven wrong. However, the decision to make a new movie instead of a regular anime season was made a long time ago.

The studio was likely motivated and, to some extent, influenced by the success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. While Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is unlikely to hit the same numbers, there is no denying that the film will turn a significant profit. Depending on the success of the new Solo Leveling movie, A-1 Pictures will decide whether to make another movie or continue with regular shows.

Regardless of the film's earnings, there is no doubt that the third season of Solo Leveling will come. As already stated, there are still many arcs left, and it is unreasonable to assume that all of them will be adapted into movies. Now the question is, when will solo leveling season 3 be released?

The system uses me, and I use the system. – Sung Jinwoo

While Beyond The System will be released sometime in 2027, it is possible that the third season of Solo Leveling will air in late 2028 or early 2029. Fans know that it takes a long time to create a high-quality product, so they cannot expect the project to be released before 2028.

After the third season is released, it is possible that the final battle between Sung Jinwoo and his enemies will be covered in the movie. However, this is just an assumption of how other popular anime series are also leaning towards making movies. The best example is obviously Demon Slayer. The series is releasing a trilogy to cover the entirety of the Infinity Castle arc, and as expected, they made a significant amount of money. So, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is highly unlikely to be the last movie in the franchise.
