Recruiting is a major part of Dynasty Mode College Football 27Because you can't always keep all your players at the end of the season. It's important to have a clear vision of the posts that need new signatures. Five-star players are typically poached quickly by college football's bigger sharks, and if your school is, or wants to be, one of those sharks, you should have a clear recruiting plan. Below, we'll share the tricks you need to learn to successfully recruit new players to your team.
Recruiting is all about signing new players and strengthening your school's lineup for the current season or the future. It really depends on your school's AD expectations. If your goals are short-term and you have to deal with impatient fans, you should focus on short-term results. Otherwise, a long-term investment is much more reasonable.
Recruitment is divided into two parts: Prospect and Transfer Portal, which we will explain below.
Prospects are young, talented players who have not yet enrolled at any school, while the transfer portal is meant to sign players who are already playing for another school.. The transfer portal will only be available during the offseason, which is after the end of season recap. But you can sign prospects in both the offseason and regular season.
Although they have different tabs in their recruitment section, both of them have the same recruitment process. First, you should target whichever player you think best fits your team and budget. Also, make sure your team's current stats match the player's dealbreaker. This is a very important factor that significantly influences a player's attitude towards your school.
Each school comes with a list of players needed for each position. You can see it at the top of the Prospects or Transfer Portal tab. Unless it's stated as an objective in AD Expectations, you don't have to follow that list.
Keep in mind that you have limits for targeting. This means you cannot target more than a certain number of players, which is usually around 35. As you progress with recruiting, certain players will lock you out, and removing them from the target list will open up more space for future weeks.
Once you're done targeting, go back to the Recruitment Board tab. Here, you can check rival schools that are pursuing the same players, as your ranking influences the players' future decisions. As the recruiting process progresses, you need to make it into the top 5 and top 3 lists of players. Then, verbal commitment and hard commitment will follow.
Before that, you need to look at the player's rating. To do so, select each player on the Recruiting Board tab and move them to the Scout section. Here, you can spend hours revealing the player's stats. You have a set budget of hours each weekAnd you need to use them wisely. It usually takes 3 to 5 scouting sessions to fully reveal a player's stats. On the first scouting attempt, you'll get to see a player's rating range for each attribute.
It is recommended that you check the trait ranges that are important to you and proceed with scouting only when you feel the range is acceptable. Each scouting session costs 10 hours. So, fully revealing the stats for each player can eat up 30 to 50 hours.
Recruitment functions, explained
When you select a target and switch to the recruiting tab, you will have a bunch of actions available. You must first offer the player a scholarship. This is where you set your proposed NIL while checking the player's expected NIL. Providing a certain amount above or below the expected NIL will activate the green or red rectangles respectively. They indicate the amount of influence you gain or lose on a player each week.
NIL is the only way to achieve the effect, but it is an editable function. Each week, you will have the opportunity to increase or decrease your proposed NIL to the player. If you are already the top school in the list of players by a large margin, you can safely reduce your proposed NIL without losing your rank. On the other hand, you can sometimes add influence to your offer to increase leverage and reach the top of the list, while having less team reputation.
In the first attempt, it is always best to offer the expected value to the player And focus on gaining influence through other actions that don't require Dynasty Points. Because when you bid beyond the expected value, this player's new expected value becomes NIL. So, if you reduce your offer next week to the original expected NIL, it will actually have a negative impact.
You will only have 50 hours to spend on a player per weekAnd you'll need to make a lot of them. Each task costs a set number of hours. So, it's best to plan your strategy in advance:
-
Scholarship Offer (5 Hours)
-
Explore Social Media (5 hours)
-
DM The Player (10 Hours)
-
Contact Friends and Family (25 hours)
-
Send Home (50 hours)
-
Tour Schedule (10 to 20 Hours)
-
Sway (30 Hours)
-
Soft Sale (20 Hours)
-
Hard Selling (50 Hours)
Table Tour, Sway, Soft Sell, and Hard Sell will only be available if you make it into the player's top 5 list.
It is worth noting Scheduled visits do not use a player's 50-hour cap; It only uses your own hourly balance. This means that even if you've fully met the 50-hour cap for a player, you can still schedule a tour for them.
The effect you get from each of these methods varies from player to player, but in general, more expensive actions have more impact. The impact of table visits is completely dynamic. If the tour takes place on the day of the match, the result of the match and the level of the opponent will have a significant impact on the effect received.. If you lose your game, the tour will have a negative impact.
Sway, Soft Sell, and Hard Sell are like mini-games where you can talk to the player in a way that focuses on your school's strengths. Choosing any of these actions will bring up a menu of topics. Each topic focuses on three key factors of schooling. You want to pick a topic where you get three ticks which is a strong influence. A subject with two ticks will still be a positive move.
The good news is that You can edit your actions like your NIL offer. Each week, you have the option to remove some of your tasks and replace them. So, the 50-hour cap for the player remains the same, but you can adjust it each week to get the best results.
As the weeks go by, you'll see your status updated on each player's overview tab. When you enter the Top 3 period, when only three teams remain in the race, The team on top at this stage will have a higher impact multiplier for their actions. So you need to save a few hours to use each player in the top 3 periods. Your actions are more valuable despite consuming the same amount of resources.
The team at the top of the top 3 periods has already earned a verbal commitment, but they are still not guaranteed to sign the prospect, as other teams still have a chance to gain more influence through strong performances. The deal closes when the school receives a firm commitment from the player.
Your team reputation is your first limit
Being practical when choosing a target is key to having an optimized recruitment window. If you're coaching a 2-star school, you shouldn't really be chasing 5-star prospects on the market.. Even offering a large NIL won't convince most top-notch prospects to join a lower-ranked school, but even if they do, it won't work for you, because you'll have to pay that NIL, hopefully, to keep that player on the team.
So, always try to go 1 star ahead of your school's reputation. It's okay if you offer a scholarship to a 3-star player while at a 2-star school. This is quite a received offer.
Don't forget the roster NIL when signing new players
Always remember that Every player you sign is a value addition to your roster NIL budget next season. Of course, some players will leave at the end of each season, but if you overspend on players during the recruiting period, a large portion of your next year's budget will be eaten up by roster NIL expenses.
The worst part is that to keep those players in school, you may have to offer an even higher NIL each season. If your school doesn't increase key grades, or you fail to meet the player's dealbreaker expectations, all you have to do to keep him in school is to offer an outrageously high NIL, which is a bad habit in Dynasty mode with serious long-term consequences.
Don't miss the preseason for scouting
During the preseason, you won't be able to offer a scholarship to any prospect, but you can still add them to your target list and scout them.. The preseason is a great period of the season to use your hours on scouting without worrying about recruiting tasks.
You can scout a long list of options in the preseason and then list the players you like with a fresh budget of hours to implement recruiting actions in the following weeks.
