PlayStation has randomly dropped an incredible cinematic trailer for Marvel's Wolverine that confirms the presence of the fan-favorite X-Men villain.
Although it's hard to feel excited about PlayStation after its widely controversial physical release announcement a few weeks ago, the company does at least have several exciting games on the horizon. One of the most anticipated of the bunch is Marvel's Wolverine, which isn't really far from release.
That being said, we've surprisingly seen Insomniac's next Marvel game, with only a teaser, a proper reveal trailer, and a gameplay walkthrough in the several years since it was announced. That changed out of the blue with the release of an excellent and well-revealing cinematic trailer that was being played before the screening of Odyssey.
Marvel's Wolverine trailer confirms Lady Deathstrike as a villain
Logan is in the fight of his life
Out of nowhere, PlayStation continued to ignore the growing backlash against it by releasing a cinematic trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, which is in line with the equally excellent of many of its first-party games. The trailer shows Wolverine tearing apart a bunch of enemies and crossing paths with villains like Sabretooth and The Hand.
Beyond living up to its cinematic name, the Wolverine trailer actually has a very interesting reveal. At the end, Logan is shown fighting against fan-favorite Lady Deathstrike, confirming once and for all that she is going to be the game's villain. It wasn't shown in any of the other trailers, so it's a nice surprise to see it revealed here.
The confirmation of Lady Deathstrike proves that Marvel's Wolverine is really bringing its A-game when it comes to villains, as we already know that Sabretooth, Sentinels, The Hand, and Mystique (who will likely be the anti-hero) are all in the game. It will be interesting to see how the game handles many of them, especially considering this is the first taste of X-Men content in Insomniac's world.
