One of the most interesting parts of Marvel's Wolverine A brand new version of Logan is getting to be seen, and Liam McIntyre's portrayal of the beloved mutant is clearly “terrifying.” Marvel's Wolverine It's one of the most anticipated games of the year, and it's incredibly exciting to revisit the character in a new light. Developer Insomniac Games already has two great Spider-Man games under its belt, so it will be fascinating to see what the team does with a character much darker and angrier than Peter Parker.
Insomniac has revealed several new ones Marvel's Wolverine The latest details. Some of the most exciting surprises are confirmed, with Jean Gray and Sabretooth cameos confirmed, while features like the ability to customize the game's gore level give it the chance to be a more accessible game. Hugh Jackman's performance as Wolverine has been the most famous interpretation of the character for more than two decades, and Liam McIntyre could bring something new and unexpected to Marvel's claw-wielding mutant.
Liam McIntyre's “scary” Wolverine performance bodes well for Insomniac's new superhero game

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, McIntyre revealed that his team called his performance of Wolverine “terrible” when he first quit and gave into the character's main rage. One fascinating detail McIntyre shared about the process is that his “feral Logan” mode was inspired by Mad Dogs. One of Wolverine's defining characteristics is his intense rage, so looking to something as frightening and visceral as Mad Dogs for inspiration feels like a solid call on McIntyre's part.
Marvel's WolverineStory director Walt Williams also praised McIntyre's portrayal, saying, “Liam delivers one of the most raw and honest performances I've ever seen in this medium.” The various trailers and gameplay footage that Insomniac has shared so far have showcased a bit of Liam McIntyre as Wolverine, but gamers have yet to see how deep he'll go as the character. Being hailed as “raw” and “scary” is an incredibly promising sign, though.
I think it's good, right? being scary But, all of a sudden, I was like, 'I'm really scared to let it all out,' but they're such a good team that you feel safe. If it doesn't work they will help me. They will tell me. They just don't let it happen. So being able to trust them a lot I got to take some really big swings with my character.
Wolverine is one of Marvel's most intense characters, and McIntyre's performance is key to showcasing that ferocity.
In many ways, Wolverine's lore feels more like a horror story than a run-of-the-mill comic book arc. From being tortured in the Weapon X program to the torture ending that cursed him with the power to create a killing machine, Wolverine's story is Marvel Comics' own version of body horror. That needs to be terrifying and gut-wrenching, and hearing McIntyre deliver a spine-tingling portrayal of the character is a sign that he understands what makes Wolverine such a compelling character.
Being able to trust them so much allowed me to take some really big swings with my character.
Hugh Jackman's version of Wolverine certainly lessened the toughness of the character, but he wasn't actually scary. An exception can be made for his performance as X-24 in LoganHowever. Jackman definitely brought the terror when it came to that specific moment. If McIntyre can bring that quality to the character of Wolverine and not just be a clone, then playing Insomniac could possibly do a better job of exploring the complexity of the character than Hugh Jackman did in the movies.

Logan is a character who is constantly struggling with his animalistic side and his humanity. He is afraid of the terrible things he is capable of, and this is one of the many reasons why he is considered one of the most beloved Marvel characters. Iconic Marvel staples like Peter Parker are great, but Logan is a much more layered character. He's a walking gray area, and that's a more honest reflection of what a world full of superheroes is actually like. Marvel's WolverineThe gameplay footage already promises an incredibly fun and brutal-looking game, and it's exciting that McIntyre's performance could be the key to making the game an even stronger adaptation of Marvel's most complex mutant.
