One of the strangest changes in Dragon Ball history is making its way into Dragon Ball: Sparking Void, the second time it's been included in the game.
Surprisingly, considering how important they are to the series, Dragon Ball has a a lot of conversion. From all four levels of Super Saiyan to the more recent God and Blue variants, Goku and the gang have been shown powering up to many different levels over the past 42 years, with new forms also popping up after this time.
As much as I love watching Super Saiyans, though, arguably the most interesting changes in Dragon Ball are the ones that aren't talked about much. The best example of this is False Super Saiyan, a fan-named transformation that appeared in a solo movie and was soon dropped. Now, 25 years later, that form is making a comeback.

However it is not as playable as everyone thinks
For those who don't know, the False Super Saiyan is a transformation that appeared briefly in the Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug movie, and featured many elements similar to the real Super Saiyan. It is based on rage, sees Goku's hair form change, and has a powerful aura similar to that of a Super Saiyan, albeit with strange white eyes.
False Super Saiyan Lord Slug appeared in the movie about two weeks before the true form was introduced in the manga, meaning the false version was basically left out entirely and left for fans to mourn. The latest trailer for Sparking Zero's big DLC came as quite a surprise after confirming that this form would be coming back for the game.
The trailer shows that Goku can transform into a False Super Saiyan wearing his new costume in the DLC, a broken costume from the Lord Slug movie. It's pretty clear that the form is only part of the final move and not a playable transformation like some would have hoped, but it's still a pretty cool inclusion.
It's yet another sign that Dragon Ball is becoming a little less restrictive recently, and is able to include such a deepcut from the series' past. It's a minor inclusion in the grand scheme of things, but still a treat for long-time Dragon Ball fans like me who remember all the AMVs. real Super Saiyan form.
