Peru's foreign ministry on Monday ordered Venezuelan diplomats accredited to the Andean nation to leave the country within 72 hours, after Venezuela's ruling party declared victory in an election that Venezuelan opposition and independent voters said was unthinkable. The ministry made the announcement in a statement, citing “serious and arbitrary decisions made today by the Venezuelan regime.” Peru earlier on Monday said it would not accept Venezuela's violation of popular will and recalled its ambassador.
