Given the recent batch of WWE releases, it's only natural AEW Fans are starting to speculate on who the company might hire after the non-compete expires. Fans and wrestlers alike seem to be against the idea of Aleister Black being picked up after his previous tenure with the company, as there was no shortage of rumors of other stars refusing to be retained. On the other hand, there is a lot of interest in Kairi Sane to add more strength to the women's division in Toni Storm's absence, while tag team wrestling fans are eager to see Motor City Machine Gun and The New Day potentially in some dream matches. It's that latter group that's especially exciting for gamers, as Xavier Woods, AKA Austin Creed, could help the company secure another video game.
(Previously, in kayfabe) AEW EVPs The Young Bucks fueled rumors of some big tag team signings in the near future by retweeting an old post about “changing the world” following news of The New Day leaving WWE.
Whether it's Up Up Down Down or his infamous losing efforts against Kenny Omega in fighting games, Creed is as much a fixture of the gaming scene as he is a beloved wrestler. AEW has no shortage of gamers, whether it's Ricochet, Adam Cole, or Kleiner himself, but few connect with Creed. It's not unreasonable that Kenny Omega and others have been pushing behind the scenes for a new AEW video game, especially after Fight Forever received such a mixed response. So, if Creed does indeed sign with the company, him joining that potential push could be the straw that breaks the camel's back, giving AEW fans another match that captures the greatness of the company's stars and matches.

There's no better time to announce a WWE 2K competitor than now
With AEW still keeping news about its next match, this period after one of its biggest events could be the right time to make a move.
Why the next AEW video game is a must
Austin Creed is leading the campaign for a new AEW video game that could serve as a reasonable alternative WWE 2K The series will be a big win, because it's no secret Fight forever It was a bit of a disappointment. Its problems include, but are not limited to:
-
Lack of polish, no commentary, painfully short introductions, and dated visuals.
-
An extremely limited character creator with no option to download designs from other players.
-
The lack of match types and game modes – in particular, no GM mode – served as a major letdown.
-
Expensive DLC packs featuring integral members of the AEW roster.

AEW has been booming in recent years, with incredible signings like Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, Mercedes Monae, Thekla, and others all fully accessible. Fight forever. This, on top of significant gimmick changes for wrestlers with fast-rising stars like Toni Storm, Kyle Fletcher, and a host of new championships and PPVs make the current AEW match feel woefully outdated. There's something to be said for annual sports games that change so little and are essentially cash grabs, that a 3-year gap is too much for a fast-growing wrestling company. Bi-annual releases will be healthy once a viable pattern is found, but for that to happen, another shot must be taken to launch.
There's nothing wrong with AEW trying to maintain an old-school vibe Fight forever To stand out from the simulator-like WWE 2K The franchise, it is hoped, will be modernized in other ways. With great commentators like Excalibur, Taz, Nigel McGuinness, and now Bryan Danielson, there's no reason why there shouldn't be some voiceover for matches. Similarly, given how integral character builders and GM mods are to the wrestling game genre, both of these mechanics will be essential. If these important boxes are ticked, along with some other improvements like better visuals and flashed-out entrances, Fight foreverThe successor may be a drastic reform.
The New Day will be the tip of the iceberg for the next AEW match roster
Megan Bain. Willow Nightingale. Speedball Mike Bailey. Bandido. Brody King. Konosuke Takeshita. The Hurt Syndicate. Many of the current AEW product fixtures are not available Fight foreverWhile longtime WWE veterans like CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Danhausen are on the platform. When coupled with its missing or limited features, Fight forever It seems older than it really is. If Austin Creed and Kofi Kingston make their way to AEW, hopefully the former's love of video games will see him push for a new match with a suitably stacked roster and a more modern feel. With AEW thriving, now is the perfect time to give video games another shot.
