We still don't know much about A24's Elden Ring movie, but set photos are slowly filling in the blanks. We've seen photos that suggest it will be set after the Shatter, but recent photos suggest we'll get a look at what The Lands Between looks like before the cataclysmic event.
While there's a lot to be gleaned from these set images, we've yet to see one of the named characters from the game. It looks like the wait may be over, as we get a look at one of the most important characters in the Mythos, Queen Marika herself. The new set photo shows her in the same outfit from the game.
Queen Marika of Alden Ring movies may have been revealed
Before we move on, it's worth noting that this could be a fake image created using AI. Unfortunately, we're getting a lot of them, so take it with a pinch of salt. However, this image doesn't show any obvious Gen-AI features. It is also worth noting that there has been no official confirmation that this is indeed Marika.
Now that we got that out of the way, she definitely looks like Marika. Maybe the movie will feature a Lord of the Rings style prologue, where the world, its characters and The Shattering, because he doesn't really feature much in the events of the game. Yes, I know Radagon is there, but you know what I mean.
So will Alden Ring cost twice as much as any film A24?
It's hard to imagine Elden Ring working without a big budget.
A Reddit post by Disastrous_Tough7046 also got some comments about the look. Outfit wise, Marika looks absolutely spot on. However, his divine aura will be seen in the actual movie only after post-production. The general consensus is that it looks good for what it is, a casual photo from the set.
Another clue that this is a prologue or flashback is that the child in the foreground has horns, as seen in Morgat. Maybe it's a smaller version of the character, or just an extra. As the shooting of the movie is going on, it will take some time to get more official information about the movie.
As for the cast list as of now, the release date is March 3, 2028, and it will be A24's costliest movie to date.
