Earlier this week, after years of rumors, leaks, and slip-ups from Edward Kenway, Ubisoft finally announced that Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is getting a remake.
As the tongue-in-cheek teaser trailer says, the resync is “gaming's worst-kept secret,” but just because the cat's out of the bag, that doesn't mean the leaks have stopped.
Ahead of the global reveal showcase later today, internal screenshots and pricing have also leaked online. Bilbil-kun reported earlier today that physical copies will retail for $59.99 (£49.99), which is what the original game cost when it launched in 2013.
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Remastered Collector's Edition was also leaked
In true Black Flag re-synced fashion, a collector's edition has also been leaked. The store page is now live on Amazon France, with a physical map, notebook, Sea of Peace sheet music, and a physical copy of the game, including an Edward Kenway statue, priced at $199.99 (or £174.99).
There was no mention of a deluxe edition in the pricing leak, but the collector's edition does feature one. Previous reports suggested that the DLC and multiplayer modes were cut, so instead, the Deluxe Edition appears to come with in-game cosmetics for Edward Kenway and Jackdaw.
The Collector's Edition listing also mentions a “blood-red” costume pack pre-order bonus.
However, while the Adéwalé-centric Freedom Cry is sorely missing, Indonesia's game rating system revealed some interesting gameplay details earlier this month. Specifically, that the remake will have new characters and stories, expanding on the original game in other ways.
“It follows the story of charismatic pirate and assassin Edward Kenway as he embarks on an adventure through 18th-century Caribbean towns with parkour, and battles at sea, in search of fortune and glory,” reads the description. “Modernized in 2026, the new game includes new characters and stories.”
As previous leaks have suggested, Bilbil-kun claims that Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Resynced will launch on July 9. We'll find out if that's true at the global reveal showcase later today at 6pm CEST.
