As with other farms like Fox Run, selling a stack every day can help you accumulate a small fortune in gold. Although they can be found worldwide, with rich diversity, orichalcum nodules are limited and spread sporadically in Tyria. However, there are a handful of rich nodes that can be mined once a day and are guaranteed to appear in the same location.

Guild Wars 2: The Best Masteries, Ranked
Guild Wars 2's mastery system allows for horizontal progression, but which masteries rise above the rest?
A “path of fire” is required to get to all these nodes, as are the traversal capabilities of PoF mounts. All nodes can be found with a set of expansions, but Season 4's Skyscale makes assembly much easier. Gatherings are always made easier by skills that grant invisibility, and make a Thief, Mesmer, or Engineer (with its Scrapper Elite specialization) perfect candidates for clandestine mining activities.
Crystal Oasis – Amnoon Southern Outskirts, Vulture's Den
In the vulture's lair on the outskirts of town
- Mounts recommended: Roller Beetle and Griffon
Starting at the Amunun waypoint, exit the east gate and head southeast. Up some rocky platforms, to the right of the rocky wall, is the entrance to a mining area with some veteran vultures.
Dispatch them or ignore them and find the Rich Orichalcum Node on the right-hand side. In addition to this relatively nearby rich node, there are several single orichalcum ore nodes in and around Amunun, but their locations in the desert vary, unlike those protected by vultures in the mine.
Crystal Oasis – Destiny Gorge
Climbing up and into forge-held mines
- Mounts recommended: Sand fox
Starting at the Destiny's Gorge Waypoint, head north. Follow along the river and take the right fork. Head up the ramps and at the top head left, into mines overrun by powerful lattice enemies. Follow the rising minecart track and head left.
At the end of this track is a rich orichalcum node. After collecting all the ores, consider grabbing the quartz crystal that can be found at the other end of the cave. With the skyscale, it's easy to reach the rich quartz crystal node above, above and to the west of the Jali-sward mine.
Crystal Oasis – Elona Reach, Temple of Cormir
Overlooking the temple at the base of the tree
- Mounts recommended: Skyscale and Springer
From the circular platform around the Temple of Cormir waypoint, run north. With the SkyScale, climb directly to the cliff face using the village buildings. Without the Skyscale, take the path to the east and head back west from the top.

- Mounts recommended: Griffon or Skyscale

The larger of the two has a rich node but is protected by an experienced dust mite twister. Send it and start mining. With a flight mount like Skyscale, it is possible to follow a narrow plateau to the north for a rich orichalcum node that would otherwise fly from Highjump Ranch.
The Desolation – Sand Jackel Run
On a slither of walkable terrain
- Mounts recommended: Skimmer
The run for this vein is relatively simple, but wyrms, insects, and awakened patrols can make collecting difficult. From the Sand Jackal Run waypoint, head east past the sulfur in the skimmer towards the dark colored dome.
