Dispatch season 2 plans have not been shared with Travis Willingham

Critical Role CEO and voice of Dispatch's Phenomenon, Travis Willingham, has confirmed that he hasn't heard anything from AdHoc about plans for a second season of the game.

Last year we got a a lot of great video games, but Dispatch was easily the biggest surprise of them all. Although it certainly looked good when it was first shown, the overwhelmingly positive response to the first few episodes quickly turned it into one of the biggest and most talked about games of the year.

The sudden and massive success of Dispatch had AdHoc begging to give us a second season, which seemed like the next obvious step after the hit. AdHoc has already confirmed that it is considering a Dispatch season two, but we haven't heard anything about it since the first season ended. As it turns out, neither is Travis Willingham.

Even the CEO of Critical Role hasn't heard of Dispatch Season 2

Looks like we're going to be waiting a while

Earlier this week, Comic Book Resources shared interviews with Critical Role CEO Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey, who plays Invigil on Dispatch. When asked about his wish list for a second season of Dispatch, Willingham sadly confirmed that he “hasn't heard anything” about any plans or timelines for a “possible Dispatch 2.”

Ship the characters with Travis Willingham, Alanah Pearce, and Laura Bailey

Willingham says he asked AdHoc how much of the world it has to ship before it comes out, and whether the team plans to do more with it. The team then looked at Willingham as if he was “an idiot”, which I choose to believe means they have more ideas of the Dispatch universe.

Although Willingham hasn't heard anything about plans for a second season of Dispatch, he wants to see “a little bit more of the f**-ups”, and wants to see Malevola and Punch-Up “get into it”. Critical role CEOs also want to look at their origins and what made them join SDN in the first place.

From the sounds of it, AdHoc doesn't seem to be in a rush to get Dispatch season two off the ground, and is likely taking its time until it finds the right idea. It's also worth noting that it has a Critical Role video game to work on, which could be its next project.
