- Vegeta's Super Saiyan Grade 2 form, “Super Vegeta,” was stronger and larger than Grade 1 but had a more rapid energy drain, rendering it incapacitating.
- Super Saiyan Grade 4, introduced by Goku and Gohan in the Cell Saga, was a perfect form with no energy drain outside of combat and sophisticated tactics.

The most memorable and iconic moment of all Dragon Ball The franchise started when Goku fought against Frieza at the conclusion of the Namek Saga. After witnessing the death of his childhood best friend, Krillin, at the hands of a galactic dictator, Goku felt the ancient power native to his people. Born out of righteous anger as an answer to every innocent's demand for peace, Goku's Super Saiyan form was far stronger than Frieza, as shown when he easily defeated the villain, even pitying him in the end.
I am the hope of the universe. I am the answer to all living beings crying for peace. I am the protector of the innocent. I am the light in the darkness. I am the truth. Collaborative for good! Nightmare to you!
When Goku first went Super Saiyan, there was nothing in the entire universe that was on the same level as him at that point. However, as the series continued, this form, later dubbed Super Saiyan Grade 1, was incredibly powerful but an extreme drain on the user's stamina, showing that the form needed to be refined and could not be used. a long time
Super Saiyan Grade 2
First User: Vegeta

Cell Saga |
Although Goku was the first to ever achieve the fabled Super Saiyan transformation, much to Vegeta's dismay, it was actually the Prince of All Saiyans who attained an even higher level. This form, which he named Super Vegeta, was heavier and more muscular, sporting more strength and speed than the original form, as well as giving him more firepower to unleash devastating Ki attacks. The best example of this power was his iconic Final Flash, which almost completely destroyed Cell despite Super Vegeta being much weaker than him.
The sleeping man woke up. I am the prince of all Saiyans once again!
However, in typical Vegeta fashion, Prince was mostly driven by the desire to outplay his opponent and therefore, did not spend enough time perfecting this form. Grade 2's biggest weakness is that it drains energy even faster than the original Super Saiyan transformation, so it's quite ineffective in a long fight. Goku also explained this in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Gohan, when he said that although he achieved a stronger version of Super Saiyan, the energy cost was too great, meaning it could not last long.

Everything said about Super Saiyan Grade 2 is further exemplified by this transformation. Super Saiyan Grade 3 is the physically strongest form of all the Super Saiyan grades, as can be inferred from its appearance as it boosts users even more than Grade 2 and makes all of their physical attacks extremely powerful. The power of this form is quite powerful as Trunks was putting up a decent fight against Perfect Cell.
These large muscles would make it difficult to move very quickly, and against a monster like Cell, I couldn't miss a step!
However, the most obvious caveat of this transformation is the extreme toll it takes on the user's stamina to maintain his incredible physical strength and gigantic presence. This form is even more taxing than Grade 2 and what makes it even more effective is the fact that the user's heavy muscles also make them incredibly slow compared to other Super Saiyan grades.
Super Saiyan Grade 4
First Users: Goku and Gohan
First appearance |
Dragon Ball ZEpisode 168, “Meet Me in the Ring” |
---|---|
Debut date |
December 9, 1992 |
Story arc |
Cell Saga |
Super Saiyan Grade 4 is also known as Perfected Super Saiyan and is the version of the Super Saiyan form that everyone will use since Goku and Gohan introduced it in the Cell Saga. This form has all the advantages of the previous grade but is also faster, although the biggest advantage is the fact that it can be used outside of combat with almost no stamina or energy drain. What this means is that the Super Saiyan transformation is perfect at Grade 4, so users can walk around everyday while in this form.
Power comes in response to need, not desire. You have to create that need.
It also clears their minds, allowing them to focus more on strategy rather than relying on rage and brute force, which are the main strengths of the previous grades. This form also has minimal visual changes from Grade 1, only supporting a desaturated yellow color for the user's hair instead of the golden color of the original form. After this form was achieved, other grades were almost never seen, as there was no need and all further changes in the series originally used grade 4 as a starting point.
Dragon Ball Can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
