Although it's been four-plus years since Alden Ring first graced our consoles back in 2022, the FromSoftware title has never left the minds of its most die-hard fans, and indeed, Alden Ring fever is about to start again.
One, because Alex Garland, of Warfare, Civil War and 28 years later fame, is directing a live-action adaptation of the video game. And two, because the Nintendo Switch 2 hasn't received its previously announced port.
Things may be changing relatively soon for the Switch 2 side, as PNP Games, a Canadian video games and collectibles retailer, may have inadvertently leaked the release date for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.
As first seen on Reddit, the title will launch as a game-key card on July 10, which is a Friday, the day most modern video games are usually released.
At the time of writing, the release date is still displayed on PNP's site and is yet to be removed. For those who haven't, the Tarnished Edition of the Elden Ring will bundle the following:
New armor and customization features for the original game, the expansion 'Shadow of the Erdtree' and the appearance of Torrent.
A month ago, Amazon opened pre-orders for Elden Ring's Switch 2 port on its site, though that listing didn't include a release date. There is no release date on Amazon's side yet, but this could obviously change once the release date is officially announced.

Alden Ring Hitting 30 million selling software isn't the end, it's just getting started
FromSoftware's success deserves and deserves attention, but I just can't wait to see what's next.
When that might be, it's really anyone's guess. It's been rumored that Nintendo will hold a live presentation in June, so that would be a good time for the reveal. However, Nintendo also plays by its own rules, as revealed by out-of-nowhere Star Fox.
Alden Ring's Switch 2 port is highly-anticipated
With the increase in power of the Switch 2, fans are clamoring for more third-party releases, and none are as expected as Alden Ring. After all, what could be better than playing FromSoftware on the go? Nothing, that's it.
However, the port of the title was delayed, presumably for adaptation, and the Bandai name remained largely silent. It reappeared at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) earlier this year and performed well both docked and handheld.
That pre-orders went live, and a release date that seems to have leaked should only heighten speculation that it's ready to go.
