Thus, the saviors of Etheirys are faced with two goals: preventing the Winters from performing their inevitably brutal reconnection, while figuring out how to stop the Solstice from destroying all life on the star.

How Final Fantasy 14: Evercold Plays Into the Godless Realms Saga
And where we're going next

Although the child and the narrator are likely innocent, the other two, or another character yet to be introduced, may be Halmarut's accomplices.
After all, there's no point in stopping Winterers if the solstice happens, and right now, the only way to stop it seems to be if the reflections are artificially reattached. For that, the Scions would have to find a way to somehow “deal” with the reflections by finding a safe way to rejoin them without potentially destroying the humans living there. Calyx confirms that the Winterers all have different motivations for helping Halmarut, but unlike many other villains. final fantasyAsians themselves are most interested in preserving humanity. If the Warrior of Light could figure out how to fix the godless realms without disaster, perhaps Halmarut could be convinced to help, though the other Winters would still have to stop.

Using the Ethos, the interdimensional key connected to Azem's crystal, the Warrior of Light now has the ability to cross worlds. As they master this power, and perhaps figure out how to stop the solstice, it seems inevitable that they will visit other non-reunited reflections of Etheirys. It's hard to say exactly how long the Godless Realms saga will last, but the Hyadelin and Zodiark arc ran for everyone. A region reborn and its first four expansions over the course of nearly a decade. Needless to say, the critically acclaimed MMORPG is charting a course that may take at least a few expansions to resolve, if not longer, so fans should look forward to the twists and turns.
