The developer aims to balance appeal to a standard audience while maintaining child-friendly content.
Genless Zone Zero, like many gacha games that have come before it, is known for its scantily clad anime women. The designers of these characters know their audience and feed their sensual needs with said designs.

Both Lucy and Soukaku's voice actors have been replaced, and their voice lines have already been changed.

The latest update to Zenless Zone Zero allows players to roam the world as any agent they have unlocked. Previously, this was not the case.
In anticipation of players picking their favorite waifu and then zooming in on areas they don't, the genless Zone Zero team has made a polarizing change.
The change in the game's official patch notes reads: “Adjusts the agent's display for certain angles: when viewed from a specific angle, the agent appears pale.” Effectively, “If you try to look at their buttocks, we'll make the character disappear.” This, as you might expect, has normalized the Genless Zone Zero community.
On Twitter, one user described the news as “9/11 for hooligans”, while another called for their money back.
Similarly, a thread on Reddit received over 2,000 upvotes, 350 comments, and five awards in its first eight hours, mostly from upset players. Comments ranged from “Jesus Christ, it's really over” to “Man, it rains on my excitement for this patch. It's so unnecessary,” and many more from this person.
It wasn't all despair though. A more rounded comment from Amphabian said, “Hoyo is trying to walk the line between making sure kids can still play the game and making it sexy enough to appeal to the standard audience that plays these games. While this disappoints fans, there's still a lot of fan service. Which will bring them back.”
This is not the first time in recent months that a developer has added a similar feature to a game. In November, Stellar Blade added a Nier-inspired feature for its Nier Automata crossover. If players try to zoom in behind Eve, she will move the camera away to prevent it. First Descendant, on the other hand, has decided to go in a different direction, promising players that it will add 'jiggle physics' in a later update.

Zenless Zone is another game from Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail Creator Hoyoverse. An action RPG game with hack-and-slash mechanics, you play as a proxy – struggling to protect the new city of Eridu from a dimension-hopping ethereal.
