An eagle-eyed God of War fan seems to have found a hidden reference to Laufey's controversial cube friend Frank in Ragnarok, giving us more evidence of how long Faye's story was planned.
Getting a New God starring one of the series' most interesting characters is already interesting, but it's even bigger now that we know how long Faye's story has been planned. As the reveal trailer makes clear, Laufey isn't just telling his own story, and is largely tying into the rest of the Norse saga.
This has left fans speculating about what might be revealed about Kratos and Atreus' journey in Everyone's Time. Battle lead Corey Barlog has made it clear that he's been planning Laufey since the first Norse game, and that's becoming clearer and clearer now that references are being found in Ragnarok.
The God of War Ragnarok pointed at Frank without any of us understanding
I mean, how can we ever guess what a blue cube means?
On Twitter, SouMorse shared a very interesting discovery they found while exploring Tyr's Vault in God of War Ragnarok, a place already full of easter eggs and secrets. This includes an item that previously meant nothing but suddenly seems very suspicious of what we know about Laufey.
SouMorse points out that there is a painting in Tyr's Vault that very clearly shows a blue cube that is very reminiscent of Frank and has a color as well. To add even more fire to the theory, there is a spear sitting next to the painting with a blue gem embedded in it that is similar to the one that appears in Laufe's statue.
As we know that Faye actor Deborah Ann Woll was told all the way back in 2018 about the game and showed off key art that apparently hasn't changed in that time, it's very likely that the blue cube and gem found in Ragnarok is a purposeful easter egg for the upcoming game. I mean, what could a random blue cube really mean?
