It's early days, but the Marvel Super Heroes MTG set is extremely volatile in terms of market value after an uncertain pre-release window.

What do you get in a box at the MagicCon Amsterdam festival?

Atraxa, Praetors voice MTG card.

I've already highlighted that you get the Mystery Booster 2 box in a box at this festival, but you'll also get a brand new Secret Layer drop and some never-before-seen promo cards.

The secret layer titled Wild in Bloom is printed entirely on foil. It focuses on cards with strong land interactions or abilities like Landfall. The cards included in the Wild in Bloom Secret Layer are:

  • Nissa, Resurrection Animist
  • Ramunap Excavator
  • is
  • The tireless manager
  • Titania, patroness of Argoth

Each card is given a vibrant new design with a floral or botanical theme.

As for the promo cards, these are ones we've never seen before and are numbered only as promo 1-4 for this product. They are:

  • Llanowar Elves – Future Vision Frame, Chris Rahn Design (foil)
  • Utopia Sprawl – Textless Full Art (Foil)
  • Atraxa, The Voice of the Praetors – Movie Poster Design (Foil)
  • Cycle Elemental – Playtest Card

Atraxa is easily the most notable card of the lot, as the cheapest version of this card is currently $20, so this is a much-needed reprint, though I can't see it affecting the value of existing cards much. Another odd Playtest card is also nice to see, as your pod choosing to zero in on them in your games can often be chaotic fun.

Rule zero effectively means having house rules where you can ignore ban lists and deck-building rules, if everyone agrees.

Is the MagicCon Amsterdam Festival worth buying in a box?

Based on the price alone and the community's reaction to it, MagicCon Amsterdam 2026 Festival in a Box is absolutely worth buying.

I've already touched on the price of the Atraxa reprint, but here's the price on the other new editions as well. Nissa, Resurgent Animist is a $25 card, Ramunap Excavator is a $5 card, and Llanowar Elves is a cheap card, this new promo version is sure to be popular with collectors.

Outside of monetary value, there are only a few cool cards you'll want for a Commander deck or other compositions in this product, so you don't need to look at everything like an investment!

Considering the normal price of the new Foil Secret Layer drop, special promo cards, and the current price of the Mystery Booster 2 box on the secondary market, you'd be foolish to think you're not getting your money's worth at $199.99.

The issue, however, is going to be the same as for any secret lair drop, and that is the scalpers. This product has buy and flip written all over it, and even with a purchase limit of two per person, I don't expect the stock to last long. So if you're interested in this box, get ready for a fight, and make sure you don't miss out by opening secret layer alert emails.
