Tekken One of the greatest fighting game series ever. Recently released Tekken 8 has attracted many new fans with its exciting gameplay, attractive characters, and spectacular visuals. Tekken, similarly Mortal KombatAlso known for emphasis on story. And in the most recent games, mainly Tekken 8, some elements of the story seem to be influenced by a famous manga: Bleach.

Some important elements of the game's protagonist, JIn Kazama, seem to take great inspiration from Ichigo Kurosaki and his relationship with his inner, dark powers. Jin mirrors Ichigo in a few key ways.

Characters and elements inspired by Bleach

Claudio Serafino looks familiar

Katsuhiro Harada, the main director of the Tekken series, revealed in X Bleach Her favorite is manga. This caught the attention of Bleach fans, especially those who also play Tekken. Suddenly, a lot of things in the game made more sense to fans. One of the biggest examples of these is the playable character, Claudio Serafino. He debuted in Tekken 7 on the base roster, being part of the game's story. Claudio is the leader of the Archers of Sirius, an ancient order of archers who have been dealing with supernatural threats for centuries. Claudio wears ornate white robes, has medium-length black hair, and his main power is the use of Sirius-style purification magic. This move set is defined by the blue energy bow and arrows he uses, as well as empowering his attacks with blue energy.

Claudio's powers, background, and design are very reminiscent of Uryuu Ishida and Quincy. The Archers of Sirius are clearly inspired by the Quincy Clan. As the archers dedicate their lives to destroying monsters, Quincy destroys Bleach's main monsters, the Hollow. Claudio's archery attacks are very similar to Uryuu's Heilig Bogen, his iconic spirit bow and arrow.

With the release of Tekken 8, the new story mode was praised by fans worldwide. And a certain moment in the story once again caught the attention of Bleach fans. Jin Kazama has been in constant personal conflict since his debut in Tekken 3. Jin is the son of the kind and benevolent Jun Kazama and the monstrous and evil Kazuya Mishima. And being Kazuya's son, he inherited the devil gene. Jinn can sometimes transform into a devil form called Devil Jinn. In this form, he does not behave like himself and is incredibly evil and violent. This demonic entity developed into a separate entity in his mind, often mocking and antagonizing Jin.

During his time in Yakushima, Jin faces off against Satan once again. They fight for a while until Jin confesses his sins and commits himself to protecting those he loves. Jin finally realizes that Satan has been trying to save him all this time, and Satan grants him his power, giving Jin black and white wings. Jin embraces the devil's power, reaching a new level of power needed to defeat Kazuya.

The story and conclusion of Jin and Satan is very reminiscent of Ichigo and Saito Zangetsu. This moment in Tekken 8 is clearly inspired by The Blade is Me, the moment when Ichigo finally understands Zangetsu and embraces him as his true power. Like Devil Jin, Zangetsu often possessed Ichigo, tearing apart his opponents but most importantly, protecting Ichigo. Satan saved Jin from death several times, even though he scolded Jin many times. This is incredibly similar to Zangetsu's treatment of Ichigo.

While Tekken's references to Bleach aren't as plentiful The Bizarre Adventures of Jojo the Street Fighter References, Katsuhiro Harada clearly showed his love for Bleach with the latest entries. Claudio debuted in Tekken 7, which was released in 2014, right when Bleach's Thousand-Year Blood War arc was in full swing in the manga, an arc that heavily featured the Quincy. And Tekken 8 was released in 2024, but it was in development during 2022, while Blade is Me was animated.

as if Bleach If fans need more reasons to check out Tekken, this relationship between properties works well for fans of both series. Tite Kubo also makes references to Tekken in the manga, showing that he is clearly a fan of Tekken as well. This may be the reason for the upcoming Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is more similar than Tekken This compared to standard anime arena fighters.
