How to beat Kane (first battle)
The first battle against Kane will occur after the player defeats Melchia and gains the power to pass through gates while in the spectral realm. The battle will take place at Kain's throne inside the clan's sanctuary. This battle involves Kane disappearing and reappearing in another location.
When he does this, he will fire a projectile that will instantly send the player back into spectral range. Fortunately, there will always be a wraith present in the area that the player can kill. Doing so will give them enough health to return to the physical plane.
There is nowhere to hide from this attack, as it is able to pierce through any walls the player tries to use for cover.
The best way to win this battle is to remember where Kane was standing and head towards this area. This will take him off stage and reappear in one of two other locations. Players will then dash for this location while Kaine charges his attack. Landing a blow knocks Kane off the stage and repeats his attack. Landing enough hits will win the fight and trigger a cutscene.
Winning this battle will reward players with the Wraith Blade. This blade allows for a powerful, charged attack that finishes any weak enemy. Later, they will receive an upgrade that will allow them to fire projectiles with this blade. However, the most powerful form of this blade will come in the form of Fire River. Fire River can finish off enemies from a distance by setting them on fire. This can trivialize all lesser enemies the player encounters while running.
How to beat Kane (2nd battle)
The second fight against Kain will only come at the end of the game. It takes place after defeating Dumah in the Chronoplast and making his way through the Oracle's Cave. This battle is the same as before. This time, however, there are only 2 places that Kaine can spawn – but both are high. While there are many powerful glyphs in the game, all players need is speed to defeat Kain.
To land a hit on Kain, players must run to the side where he spawns and jump over him. On the floor between these 2 points is a healing sign. Standing on it will instantly heal the player. Players can remain in this position until they are confident they can reach Kane before attacking.
