Giving your partners customized nicknames is a mechanic that has been present in Pokemon Suffrage since its inception, and Pokemon Legends: ZA No difference. Players can give captured Pokémon unique nicknames, personalizing these companions and making them unique in the process.
However, unlike the old one Pokemon Games where players had to find NPCs like the Name Rater to give their captured Pokemon a nickname, Legends: ZA Takes the middleman out of the process, making it more accessible to all players. That said, it's easy to miss the tutorial that explains how it all works, which can leave some players confused about how to do it. Here's the breakdown.
How to give Pokemon Nicknames in Pokemon Legends: ZA
You can give your Pokemon a nickname Pokemon Legends: ZA From the Pause menu. Here's how:

open up pause Press the menu X On your Nintendo Switch 1/2 controller.

open up “boxes” From the left pane.

Find and select the Pokemon you want to nickname.

press on A in Pokemon to open the context menu.

Scroll down “Change Nickname” and press A Open the naming screen again.

Input a Nickname For your Pokemon, confirm, and exit the menu.

Now, your Pokemon will have a new given nickname.
To change the name again, just repeat the process from step 1 and you will be able to choose another one. There is no limit to how many times you can rename a Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Traded Pokemon cannot be nicknamed. This includes Pokemon you get by trading with NPCs in Lumios City, eg
Heracross Named Bois, which can be obtained by trading Pikachu with NPCs.
