You'll need a good handle on the game's existing mechanics before you get a chance to play as this character, whose skills rely on fitting together the various approaches taught by the other cast members. Unlock Chain Master
The chain is unlocked by the master Defeat on any character on the third day. At this level you get two additional difficulty modifiers:

Chain Master Playstyle
Chain Master plays differently than Wanderer, so you might want to take a few moments Check out their kit before jumping into the race.
Chain Master's unique ability Move enemies from one side of them to the other. Key tiles and upgrades for Chain Master
Chain Master is looking for some specific tools to refine their starter kit and it's up to you to determine the path you choose.
Combo-focused upgrades work best on Chain Master. Meteor Hammer can hit and kill two enemies at once, easily activating any passive skills that rely on combos. If you get the Double-Strike upgrade on it, it can activate three-hit combos needed for stronger combo skills.
When choosing a route, Prefer Waring and Combo stores. Dancer upgrades are the least useful, as most of them provide minimal bonuses to your swap toss.
Tile Upgrades You'll want to dedicate to upgrading your main attack, either Meteor Hammer or Hookblade, and Give it as much damage as possible.

Slam into an enemy, spin around, and hit a second before finishing off the first enemy with a meteor hammer backswing. Going into a hammer-turn-charge is also an effective way to attack and then run away in the same turn.
