While Aloft is a massive open-world sandbox survival game, it's currently still in early access. If anything changes as development continues, we'll continue to update our guides!
How to use Stormchaser
The sky in Aloft is huge, and it's a lot of fun to travel around the sky and slowly uncover new areas on your table map to see what's there, if you're looking for something specific and need directions. Find it quickly, consider building and using Stormchaser, the machine Navigation tab Crafting menu on your home island that can Guide you to important islands.
Are you missing a crafting recipe or two that you've been desperately trying to find so you can complete a grand creation or finally craft a machine you've been missing to process all your resources for? Set sail for the close The Stone of Knowledge You might miss exploring (they might be hidden despite the shiny rocks and red ribbons – we definitely missed some our first time!) Similarly, if you need new gear for your home island, you might choose to find one The lost anchor instead
If you're looking to work in a healing ecosystem instead of expanding your recipe book, you might as well look. Corrupt Isles Where you need to fight your way to eliminate corruption nodes before you can address the planet's health, or choose to explore nearby. Unhealthy ecosystem If you want to get your hands dirty you're going to heal them!
Unhealthy ecosystems are also indicated on your schedule map – when an island appears yellow on your map, either the ecosystem there is unhealthy or you haven't visited long enough to prove it. The unhealthy ecosystem option in Stormchaser is used early when you're still exploring the skies and haven't reached these islands to mark them.
Once you find the recipe for Stormchaser, you can craft it and keep it on your home island for easy access. Keeping Stormchaser will cost 20 stones, ten windstone crystals, and five charcoal.
After building Stormchaser, you can Offer resources in exchange for direction By interacting with the machine. By default, you will always need One pure water, one charcoal, and five windstone shards. You need a fourth ingredient to find these things, which we have listed in the table below.
