How to unlock Season 3 hardware in Battlefield 6

The biggest update for Battlefield 6 has just been released. It's introducing three new weapons, two maps over the course of a season, a ton of cosmetics, a ranked mode for REDSEC, and new hardware to chase, giving potential digital soldiers plenty to sink their teeth into.

While the new maps and weapons are the main attraction, players shouldn't overlook the new hardware they can unlock. Currently, only one is available, but if Season 2 is any indicator, we may see more releases in the coming weeks. Here's everything you need to know about how to unlock Season 3 hardware and what it does.

How to unlock season 3 hardware

For the unfamiliar, hardware is the term Battlefield uses to describe the various attachments you can unlock for weapons. Most attachments for guns should be unlocked on a weapon-to-weapon basis, Seasons are unlocked for all applicable guns you currently have unlocked. This allows a bit more flexibility for those who really like specific hardware for their guns.

Currently, in Season 3, players can unlock the following hardware and what each of them does:

To unlock these attachments, you need to complete their respective challenges, such as getting 40 kills with a carbine or SMG to gain burst fire. There is no other way to get these attachments, so you need to finish each of their challenges if you want to get all four. Additionally, the challenges must be done in sequential order, so you can't focus on the one you want first.

Progress will count only after the challenge is unlocked. This means that if you haven't unlocked Burst Fire, it doesn't matter how many Assault Rifles you get; You still need 40 when you reach the Aftermarket Burner Challenge. This can make unlocking them all a little tricky, so it's important to make sure you're using the right weapons for each challenge to make sure your kills actually count.

You can check your challenge progress at any time by going to the Challenges tab of your main menu (or in-game) and selecting the “Season” sub-tab. Make sure you're on Season 3, and you'll be able to see all the progress you've made and which of the four hardware challenges you're currently running.

To actually complete them, none of these are nearly as difficult as some of the original challenges for Battlefield 6. Most of these can be finished in a few games, but you'll want to make sure you're picking the right mode or map to speed up your progress. For example, Breakthrough mode in Hagenthal Base or Empire State is great for burst fire and aftermarket burner challenges because it's so close.

If you are struggling with sidearm kills, I recommend using the M45A1 or M44. Both of these hit pretty hard, allowing you to easily secure kills with them as long as you're accurate. For those not aiming great, the VZ. The 61 is a good choice as it is full auto and can cut down anyone at close range.

Once you complete the hardware challenge, you can find it in the customization menu, where you can equip the gun with various attachments. Remember, all of this will fall under the ergonomics part of the gun, and not every piece of hardware will work with every weapon.
