This is the first weekend Pokemon Legends: ZAPlayers are already looking for the best strategies to get the most powerful Pokemon fast and defeat tough Alphas or Trainers. Others are taking it slow to find all the Pokemon Pokemon Legends: ZAComplete the Wilderness and Mable's research, and there's no right or wrong way to do it. I like to mix the two and take some time to talk to various NPCs, which led me to find out some specific facts about the game and its critics, the most gruesome but only hinted at by Gen 7's Pokédex.
Pokemon Legends: ZA Creates new Pokedex entries for some critters, although many others are reused from older versions, and the Mega Evolutions added to the game are completely new. While I enjoy reading Pokedex entries for Pokemon I care most about, some interesting facts are not found within the Pokedex or through the game's Pokemon Professor, but rather by talking to random NPCs. That's exactly what I did, and I discovered something very scary: Vanillis, the ice cream Pokemon, actually has internal organs. Yes, you read that right – ice cream with limbs. Organ ice cream. However you want to keep it, it's gross at best, and nightmare fuel at worst.
The NPC states that they are part of the Pokédex Research Society and believes that Vanillis uses its internal organs to create cold air. This makes sense when I consider that Pokemon must have organs other than brains. However, since they are often cute creatures with smiling faces and quirky expressions, this is a more buried thought than something I consciously consider. Now I'm faced with the disturbing image of ice cream with intestines, so I have to put the console down for a minute or twenty.
Pokemon Sun and Moon's Pokédex states that Vanillux, an evolution of Vanillis, has two heads and two brains. Furthermore, it also states that if it loses one of its heads, it can still live. terrible
Pokemon Legends: ZA's odd Pokédex entry is already obvious
Further cementing this feeling of being grossed out by the game is another random NPC who asks how to get rid of “Pokémon droppings” aka excrement. So now I don't know if one of my favorite gen 5 pokemon species has internal organs, but it passes food and such through its body to excrete it. Did I need to know this? no No, I didn't. As a huge fan of ice cream, I'm not sure I'll want to for the next few months.
To be fair, there were already red flags, viz Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Vanillite, the first step in the evolution line, is born when the sun hits an iceberg that refuses to melt. Also, Darumaka's Pokédex entry states that people use its feces to keep themselves warm. Weird and Dark Pokédex entries are nothing new, but this one makes me ask all kinds of questions Pokemon The universe, and I don't have many answers.
Pokemon Legends: ZA's new Mega Evolutions are officially cursed
however, Pokemon Legends: ZAThe Pokédex is full of strange entries that will make you rethink what you know about Pokemon. These are some examples:
-
Mega Clefable: “It flies using the power of the moon to control gravity within a radius of over 32 feet around it.” So what happens during the day? Does it lose its ability to fly? What happens if it flies up in the sky after dawn?
-
Mega Chandelure: “One of its eyes is the window that connects our world to the afterlife. This Pokemon draws on hate and transforms it into power.” Pokemon Legends: ZA Incidentally confirms that there is an afterlife where, possibly, both humans and Pokemon go. This opens up a lot of possibilities for ghost-type Pokémon, as they are sometimes defined as true ghosts and others not.
-
Mega Pyroar: “This Pokemon breathes flames hotter than 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit. It swirls around its magnificent, fiery mane as it shields its allies.” It's worth noting that the surface of the Sun is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, so a megapyro can melt almost anything. The fact that this is also true for MagCargo makes me very uncomfortable, because instead of retconning this piece of information, the game is doubling down on it.
Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about all of this. Mega Pyror is probably my favorite new Mega Evolution Pokemon Legends: ZA With Mega Falinks, so I have to accept the fact that this planet can melt, and it probably does guts, poop, and all sorts of other things. But you know, at least Pyror is based on Singh. I never thought we'd see the days when Pokemon had the limbs of Vanillites, Vanillis, and Vanillux, but here we are.
Pokemon's history of messed-up Pokedex entries continues in Legends: ZA
At the same time, what I expected from a franchise that was supposed to be for kids, and still has horrible Pokedex entries is that the Phantom is a stump possessed by the spirits of dead children, Palosand dries the bones of his victims at the bottom of a sandcastle, Driflon and Hypno kids, Driflon and Hypno, kids can. Singing, thus endangering his own life. Of course, these are very dark facts, but I think there's something particularly cool about ice cream with entrails, and if that doesn't bother you, I don't know what to tell you.
