  • Ikemoto develops characters based on need

  • A unique twist is added to all the characters

Ikemoto has created something incredible Boruto Characters over the years. It can be said that the character writing in the story, while not great, has risen quite a bit over the years. Where Ikemoto struggled with writing new characters and often used old Naruto characters to add depth to the story, who were already well-established characters, he now effortlessly introduces interesting characters with his own inspiration.

Don't touch the Seventh Hokage. – Kawaki

Each of his characters is given a very interesting role to play in the story, and that's mostly based on what the story needs at the time. Many writers develop exciting characters and then shape them in ways that make the story more exciting. For Ikemoto, things are different. He creates characters based on what the lead actor needs, and this approach, while not uncommon, is certainly very interesting to watch. So, these characters defy fans' expectations, adding a unique twist to the story and becoming richer as the story continues.

Here's what Ikemoto had to say about creating a new one Boruto Characters when asked about the process:

First, there is the role of character. The basic premise is to create a character based on need. After that, I make sure to give them an unexpected favor. In Ada's case, she has abilities that allow her to dominate the world. Instead she prefers love and has a silly side to her. There is also the character of Hidari, who awakens Sasuke. On the one hand, he displays jutsu and techniques that are reminiscent of Sasuke. But on the other hand, he reveals himself completely out of the box and has nothing to do with Sasuke. In a nutshell, this is what Gap Moe is all about. – Ikemoto

Fans may be confused about what Ikemoto Gap Moe means. It's actually different than what fans expect from a particular character. Ikemoto himself illustrates a good example of this. Ada is born with great powers Boruto series. After all, he has the ability to do anything with his omnipotence. However, Ada's lack of true love in her life drives her on her personal quest, pushing aside her needs to conquer and destroy, which is what fans would normally expect from a character of her power level.

Likewise, Hidari is a clone of Sasuke in a way. As such, fans will expect Hidari to be like him, working from afar and having a short temper among other things. However, Hidari is very different and clearly what fans see. He is more open than Sasuke and his quest for knowledge makes him a different character than fans expect.

Technically, Boruto was not created by Ikemoto. However, it is safe to say that he has made the character his own by adding his own twists and writing brilliantly over the years. Boruto may be as good a character as Naruto, or even other Naruto characters, but he is unique in his own way and that is what makes him special. Fans have come to love Boruto over the years and it goes without saying that his overall growth has been sensational to watch, both from a character growth and power standpoint.

I want to be a guardian like uncle Sasuke. – Boruto

As far as Kawaki goes, most of the character writing has been handled by Ikemoto himself and it goes without saying that the character has a strong hold on fans' hearts. Having a tragic past and the unwavering determination that comes with it makes Kawaki a great character.
