Final Fantasy 14 patch 7.1 has finally given us that sweet MSQ we've all been craving, and while the consensus is that it's a step up from Dawntrail and does its best to tease the beginnings of some interesting plot threads, there's that. A certain section of MSQ that has shocked players with how fast and shocking it is. If you don't want to be spoiled, look away now.
That section of MSQ is the part where you help Koana and the train friends solve the problem with Hetsaro, as their cows are roaming the tracks and preventing the train from operating properly. It sounds like a very interesting conflict that could see a more technologically advanced group of people clash with a more traditional, tribal people, but it all gets resolved in an amicable way that sees both sides come out victorious.
In Final Fantasy 14 patch 7.1 fans want more “conflict” in the story
Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who were hoping to see a little more tension, as Reddit user CaptainBazbotron was quick to complain about the lack of “conflict or friction” between the characters in the game's story. In a post on one of the many Final Fantasy 14 subreddits, CaptainBazbotron describes how he hates the way the conflict is framed as everything being “good and happy and good”, claiming that it's “like a story written for children”.
Another big complaint involves Koana, and how she's willing to accept Hetsaro's lifestyle, even though she thinks it's because her parents abandoned her as a child. If you grow up as an orphan with certain traditions that you don't quite understand, it makes sense that you hold some resentment towards them, although Koana accepts Hetsaro after hanging out with his cows for five minutes.

It feels great to finally get my hands on the rewards I've been waiting for so long.
Many fans also seem to agree that Final Fantasy 14 needs a bit more “world-running conflict”, with some calling the land of Tural “sterile” compared to places like Eorzea and the First. These are the same complaints that were held against the Duntrail expansion as a whole, but it seems that many hoped that the lack of “opinion or ideological conflict between characters” would be picked up in patch 7.1.
We'll have to wait for patch 7.2 to see if the conflict comes to Tullyolal or not, because there's a big reveal at the end of patch 7.1's MSQ that suggests something bad is going on, but it seems pretty clear that the holiday. The vibes are starting to get on the nerves of some players. It's time to start tackling heavy themes again, and maybe stop Tuliolal from feeling “almost horrified at how innocent he is.”

This award-winning MMO now has several expansions to its name, with the most recent Endwalker expansion bringing the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc to a close. Director and producer Yoshi-P has promised many plans for future content and regular updates to the game to keep players engaged.
