in Jujutsu KaisenGege Akutami has created an interesting world, some fascinating lore including some of the biggest and most intense battles. Even if it's for the plot JJK It has been nothing short of amazing, the main attraction of the franchise is its action, which put it on the map. Much of this comes down to Cursed Energy and Jujutsu's power system.
In its long run, Jujutsu Kaisen Many powerful characters have demonstrated using cursed energy, but only a few can be considered strong enough to be called the Lord of Jujutsu. Originally, the two gods of jujutsu were none other than the world's strongest magician, Gojo Satoru, and Ryomen Tsukuna, the King of Curses. After the Shinjuku Showdown, two magicians establish themselves as the new gods, and they are Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu, two eccentric students from Gozo. In the era after Sukuna's death, they ruled jujutsu as standout magicians with unmatched power and mastery. In many ways, they may even have surpassed their predecessors.
Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu Are the Two New Gods of Jujutsu After the Shinjuku Showdown
Jujutsu Kaisen It started in 2018 by Gege Akutami, and a few years later, in 2023, the climax of the entire manga begins after the cooling game and the unsealing of Gojo Satoru. The final arc of Jujutsu Kaisen is known as the Shinjuku Showdown, and here, the final battle against Tsukuna, the King of Curses, unfolds. Gozo's death led to an all-out war with the remaining magicians, which eventually culminated in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 268, which was released on September 1, 2024 in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump issue #40. After Tsukuna's death in Shinjuku, it was a new showdown and two new heights in Spera. Magicians, standing out from the rest – Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu. These two were already strong before Sukuna's battle, but their strength would only increase tenfold after that.
How Yuta became a Jujutsu Lord by adulthood
Yuta Okkotsu began his wizarding journey as a special grade wizard, which is practically unheard of. This is due to her vast cursed energy reserves and her cursed technology, Copy, that comes with Rika. Thanks to him, Yuta gained the power to copy any cursed technology and store it for future use. During the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Yuta gained the most powerful abilities in the entire story. By killing Kenzaku, he gained body hopping, and in the fight against Tsukuna, he gained the shrine. By switching bodies with Gozo, he potentially imprinted an infinite seal on his mind.
In that sense, Yuta left the fight even stronger, and his status as one of the powerful was cemented in Modulo. in Jujutsu Kaisen ModuloA sequel to the original story by Gege Akutami, Yuta's immense power was highlighted a bit. Yuta's cursed energy, which he had stored up for years, was so great that it was used to create a technique so powerful that it could rid humanity of its cursed energy. Rika, Yuuta's cursed spirit, stayed behind and is still alive and well, and she has a new fusion power that was first seen with Tsurugi. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 17 was released on January 5, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump double issue #6-7. All of this proves that Yuta has become a man worthy of being called the Lord of Jujutsu.
How Yuji became the Lord of Jujutsu by adulthood
Besides Yuta, there is also Yuji to discuss. Yuji is the true main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, and despite his humble beginnings compared to Yuta, his power grows by the end. Jujutsu Kaisen was huge. Fighting Tsukuna, Yuuji unlocks his own shrine, and he becomes the only character capable of projecting Black Flashes in Jujutsu Kaisen as an adult. It is also his spirit-shattering powers that ultimately kill Tsukune after a difficult battle.
Like Yuta, Yuji also received major upscales in Modulo. In this sequel, Yuji was shown to still be alive, as he was confirmed to have a body made of half-cursed spirits. It was revealed that Yuji's power had increased so much that he had gained complete control over blood manipulation, with which he could easily subdue an entire building full of magicians. We also saw Yuji's upgraded dismantling powers in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter 22 from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #12 dated February 16, 2026. In this chapter, Yuji is able to launch a dismount on Mahito with ease and defeat him without breaking a sweat. Yuji's simple attacks are so devastating that they are even greater than Tsukuna's ultimate attacks, showing that he too has become powerful enough to be considered a god of jujutsu.
Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Tsukuna stood out as the two previous powerful gods of jujutsu
Before the rise of Yuta and Yuji, we had two other characters who were considered gods of jujutsu. These characters were Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Tsukuna. Gozo was granted two iconic powers of the Gozo clan, 6 eyes and unlimited powers, and with them, he was almost unstoppable. On top of this, Gozo had an excellent performance of RCT, which he repeatedly used to reconstruct and destroy his own mind.
Sukuna, meanwhile, was a demon from the Heian era who devoured his brother and became the King of Curses. Sukuna's original body had 2 mouths and 4 arms, making him absolutely perfect for jujutsu magic. The two faced off in the strongest battle of the Shinjuku Showdown and demonstrated the full potential of this power system.
Dabura Karaba stands as the upcoming new God of Jujutsu in Modulo
in Jujutsu Kaisen ModuloYuta Okkotsu is already dead. While Yuji is still alive, he wants to see the next generation become stronger and is already preparing to help them reach the top. With that being said, we have a new, super powerful character from Modulo who may be worthy of becoming the next Jujutsu God. This character is none other than Dabura Karaba, King of the Simurians.
Dabura hails from the planet of Simuria, where jujutsu wizardry is extremely primitive, and yet, by fighting the Mahoraga, he is able to unlock all the secrets that humans have lived with for centuries. Dabura's techniques, Killing Intent and Light, are extremely powerful, so much so that he was able to nearly destroy Mahoraga and travel across the Earth at near light speed. Dabura's powers also allow him to return to Earth, which is light-years away from his planet at the end of the story. His innate talent makes him the next God of the JJK world, and we hope we see more of him in the future.
