Make sure you collect everything before using the battering ram and talking to Flash, as that interaction triggers his ending. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight mission.
All five surfboard locations at New Beginnings
Surfboard #1
- Current Objectives: Chase Detective Flash
Follow the main path until you play as Jim Gordon and gum up the cogs to prevent the yellow container from hitting you. Look left after you pass under that container to find Surfboard #1 near the cart you need to move.
Surfboard #2
- Current Objectives: Chase Detective Flash
Continue along the main path to reach a short cutscene where Flass makes a suspended green container spin. As soon as you regain control, look to your right to find a surfboard tucked away in the corner.
Surfboard #3
- Current Objectives: Chase Detective Flash
Continue following the main path, and use Gordon to stop the green containers at high speed. You'll find enemies with guns behind those crates, and Surfboard #3 is directly in front of you, at the bottom of the stairs.
Surfboard #4
- Current Objectives: Chase Detective Flash
After defeating the enemies with the gun, go through a small warehouse and take a left to the ice cream truck. Follow the gold stud path to find a surfboard on the wall next to the water.
Surfboard #5
- Current Objectives: Make something to reach Flass
When you start building the battering ram, look in the right corner of the machine to find the final surfboard. Make sure you break it and deal with all the other collectibles before you talk to Flash, because you can't go back once you start interacting with him.
New start red brick location
Marine red brick
- Current Objectives: Make something to reach Flass
When you get to the section where you have to make a battering ram, use your grapple to get to the top of the building with the yellow and black markings to the left of the machine. Drop through the ceiling to collect the Sea Red Brick.
What does marine red brick do?
You can apply marine red brick to your outfits and vehicles to give a dark blue, aqua and yellow color scheme.
New launch collectable rewards
If you break all five surfboards, you'll get the surfboard trophy, which you'll eventually be able to use to customize your Batcave layer.
Can you replay the New Beginning docs section for the missing collectibles?
Yes, you can replay new beginnings later, so none of its collections are permanently lost. However, most of the surfboards and the red brick can be missed during your first run if you go too fast.
